Customers are saying
Customers frequently mention the Roomba j7+ excels in cleaning performance, mapping, navigation, obstacle avoidance, and ease of use. The automatic dirt disposal and pet hair removal are also well-received features. However, some customers have concerns about the noise level and battery life. Additionally, a few customers feel the suction could be stronger, and the robot sometimes struggles with docking.

Amazing little bot that learns with each update
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The AI on this thing is great. It avoids cables very well (which is my use case). I have a sit-stand desk and the wires are all hanging and vulnerable. Every other robot I’ve had needs something to tell it not to approach or I needed to prep that area with a barrier. Not so with the J7+. It avoids the cables very well. It’s neat seeing the little disk on the top then blue that shows the AI is thinking. The clean base is great because you don’t have to clean up after every run. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Updated iRobot Makes a Difference
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We upgraded from the i7 to the j7. It’s got a better profile and blends in nicely. I also really like the LED light allowing it to work better in the dark.

I really tried!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Diligently tried to make this product work but couldn't. Over the course of 1+ month, I tried 3 different Roomba's. All 3 had different issues; error code 26, no camera recording (while mapping), and rolled into obstacles such as my dog when this specific model is supposed to identify pets. Interestingly, it did appear to vacuum when it wasn't experiencing a problem. However, the stop and go, mapping from scratch each time which easily takes close to 2 hours and does not vacuum while mapping (so you have to run it again to do the actual work after mapping), and the back and forth of buying and returning wore me out. I would like to find one that works well to clean pet hair! Reviews online suggested I was experiencing common problems the co. has yet to resolve successfully:(

Nifty Little Guy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am impressed. It figured out and navigated around everything on it's own. The most impressive was under our bed. We have 8 small wood posts that support the mattress platform. It figured it out and got around all posts. My wife has long hair all over the floor and I was surprised it was wadded up around everything. There were just a few strands that pulled right out. Our cordless Shark looks more like a hairy whirly brush at a car wash, so I was pretty impressed this one didn't have hardly anything

Careful
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After only 5 months it is having issues with the battery, being sent a new battery through the manufacturer it lasted a day before the same issue. While their customer help is amazing the product having these issues so soon is leaving a sour note in my mouth

Great little sucker
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mapping is great, hard surface cleaning with two dogs is very good (not perfect) but carpet cleaning is impeccable!

Not as great as I hoped but good
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looking for a replacement for my 6 year old 980. This report was great and loved the camera feature. But after a week, I think it’s better suited for hard floors. The lack of turbo carpet boost really shows with pet hair. Going to return and try the s9. Not as many bells and whistles but it does have more power

Poor quality and expensive repair cost
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this device less than two years ago, and it is no longer able to charge. When I contacted iRobot customer service, I was informed that I would need to pay $275 for repairs, as the warranty only covers 12 months. The customer service representative indicated that the issue is likely due to damaged or worn charging contacts. For a device that costs $1,000, it is disappointing and unacceptable that it is designed in such a way that it cannot be charged properly after less than two years. Additionally, the $275 repair fee only comes with a three-month warranty, which I find to be excessively short. Lastly, I have experienced frustration with the lack of responsiveness from the customer service department, as I have had to repeatedly follow up for answers.

Life saver!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hands down one of my favorite purchases ever! Instead of vacuuming everyday (darn German shepherds!) my Roomba vacuums every day!

It does it’s job so well
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have two dogs.. both of which shed a lot. And a toddler that loves to make messes. This handles all of it. Relatively quiet too!

Awesome!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So happy with this purchase. We got it to help with our lab’s hair that is everywhere! We run it almost every day and it does great! Is actually pretty quiet compared to the previous roomba that we had, that is until it’s on its base and emptying! That gets loud!!! But for the few seconds it does it, it’s not a big deal. The self emptying is also amazing, it truly is a set it and forget it kind of thing! It is on the expensive side but when it works this well I am ok with the price!

Meet Trent Crimm, our new house Roomba.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Meet Trent Crimm, our new iRobot house Roomba. Trent is an Artificial Intelligence-based robot. He uses AI to map the house, detect dog poop and electric cords (and avoid both), reports to your smart phone app (with pictures) on anything he finds at eye level when he's carrying out a prescheduled vacuuming of a section of the home. Needs no lasers or other devices to ward him away from hazards like the hearth, because you can designate these hazards on the map he's created on your smart phone. And if you want extra attention to a carpet or high traffic area - Trent is more than happy to manage that as well. On each sweeping assignment he reports back on what he's found on the floor and asks if it's a temporary or permanent fixture. He empties himself after each "mission". Admittedly that process is a startlingly loud, but brief, interruption to an otherwise placid morning. This unit came highly rated by WireCutter and I would agree with their assessment even as I laughed at their discussion of a poop picture library to train the bot. The unit is reasonably quiet (but if you are in the room you'll know it's there), and mastered the dust bunnies in short order. He doesn't get "absolutely" everything, but neither did I when I manually did the floors. But cleaning the floors just got A LOT easier. We didn't get the damp mop version only because the home we just moved into is 95% wood flooring and what little damp mopping there is can probably be managed easier manually than having to work with the bot. But others have used a mop version successfully in their apartments. Because I buy all my electronics from Best Buy (ours and college kids) I have Black Tie protection already. That protection covers our bot as well. I'm curious how many years I can get out of this, but with proper maintenance I hope 3-5 if not a few more.
