Worked well for a few months...then according to iRobot apparently went bad after the unit was used only on wood floors in 3 months...the answer was to purchase new rollers for $35...so I would say it works well for 140$ in rollers a year...as they told me, the rollers are consumable even though the app says we have over 150 hours of use left on them...

It vacuums. Have been underwhelmed by it's navigational abilities. Overall disappointed. Regret the purchase given the high cost of the unit.

Definitely not clever. Stucks easily and gives error. You push the button but doesn't return to work. Another time says "move another area" but doesn't continue to work. STAY AWAY.

I had three previous model which was great, but ran over my dogs …. So I bought this one thinking “yea” it can avoid dog mistakes. Well it does avoid mistakes it doesn’t clean like the previous model. Always getting the error “empty bin”. It won’t even clean a room without the error. I’m constantly cleaning out the robot and the rollers. Save your money and purchase something else.

We first tried a mid level Roomva model and we were impressed enough to upgrade to the J7+ so we could have maps and all the features the maps include. After four weeks we returned our unit as it just didn’t work out well for our home. We have a single story home will tile floors through out. We wanted to be able to use maps and target areas for on-demand cleaning as well as regular scheduled cleans. What we found was that the layout of our home just didn’t map out well and the unit struggled to accurately complete assigned jobs. For smaller space la I think the unit would be excellent.

After 3 weeks I am very happy with this. We have all wood floors with room rugs and this thing is awesome. I never had a robot vacuum before and I wish I would have gotten one sooner. This is so quiet and never gets hung up on anything. I can't say how good it works on a carpeted home but for room rugs and wood floor its amazing.

Best non hands on product we have ever purchased. Just program start time and days you prefer the I-Robot to work. Then just be amazed how efficient the work is done. The only thing that’s left behind is clean floors and carpets! Very happy and satisfied with our purchase and will recommend it to friends!

It cleans up with precise mapping and quicker clean.

It requires so much maintenance, tires and other parts have to be taken out and they’re extremely hard to put back in, it’s not worth it.

Pros: - Designated app. Not glitchy, easy to navigate, great UI, can designate areas for it to not clean, recognizes rooms so you can clean specific rooms - Clean design Con: - Poor cleaning power. I've seen tons of youtube reviews where it gets above 90 score on hardwood floor cleaning. It fails to clean visible pieces of dust (I've let them purposely in the middle of the living room to see if it will pick it up). It isn't bad at it but you definitely to sweep the floor again or vacuum it if you want the floor to be really clean. - Bad sensor. The camera seems to be only good for scanning. It advertises that it can detect poop or loose wires on the ground and avoid them but it has to actually physically make contact with the walls/furniture before it backs up and moves in a different direction. So I have no idea how it can't recognize walls before colliding with them but it can somehow avoid pet poop? If you have pets and you are considering getting this because of the "poop avoidance" feature, definitely get the LIDAR-mounted ones. They seem to be much better at obstacle recognition. - This kinda goes with the previous complaint but because it's not LIDAR, it is much more inefficient in mapping out the entire room and calculating route. I don't mean that it can't scan the entire room accurately, it DOES scan well. But as for the routes, it does not vacuum in a pattern but seem to just randomly go about until it collides with something. Which means it takes long to clean. I have an average-sized 1bd apartment and it takes 40 minutes (and I don't let it clean the bathroom). Conclusion: I definitely should have went with LIDAR robo vacuums like the ones from roborock.

It gets stuck from time to time. Not as smart as expected in detecting and avoiding wires

We had hoped it was the answer to cleaning our floors but we had to return it because it was just too noisy. :-)

Let’s start with the bad (because there’s not much of it to be had): - the base station, when emptying the robot, is like a jet engine taking off. It’s loud and startling and there’s no warning beeps that the robot has docked and finished (this is why it’s 4 stars instead of 5). - the robot will quickly get scratched and scuffed (cosmetic only). The Roomba J7+ has a fantastic set of sensors that help it avoid things like cords. In practice, this works better in better light situations, but it also has a flashlight on the front of the device to help it spot and avoid obstacles right in front of it. It navigates around things very nicely and resumes a grid pattern around your room, cleaning and creating nice lines as it goes. Having previous Roombas, this one is miles ahead in terms of smarts, but also: it’s very, very thorough. The room map it generated after 2 cleans was almost perfect. Even on low-light it was able to find its way around the house and avoid things that would have stalled out the lesser models. If you’re used to Roomas already, you’ll be familiar with some of the serviceable pieces. In terms of the vacuum itself, it’s VERY quiet - the flashlight does make it a bit less discrete, but overall very impressive. There’s a clean by room feature as well, so once it creates a map of your space, you can tell it to go clean a specific room. No need to let it roam the entire house and hope it gets the area you want (as you had to in the past), just tell it to focus on the areas that need the most attention. You can even check out the photos of the object it detected and attempted to avoid in the app. The updates to the app have been really refreshing and made it much easier to use. Overall, I’m very impressed with this latest tech leap, compared to other robots with similar features, the Roomba is by far the best.

Easy set up. Battery is long lasting the brain on this robot is incredible- Could not be happier - we have very expensive vaccums and when my husband walked in from work saw bedroom carpets he said wow you had rhe carpets shamphooed. Thats how well this machine works.
