I use this daily and have two dogs and a child so it’s a life saver! The only con I have is it’s really loud especially when it’s emptying itself. Otherwise this item works fantastic so long as you upkeep on maintenance every couple months or so and order replacements when needed

when it works right its great but the device appears to be quite finicky. It frequently fails to clean the entire room and often returns to the base with an error message. At times, it does not return to the base correctly, and even when it does, it occasionally fails to charge properly. As a result, it may run out of battery and remain inactive for an entire day.

This machine saved me from having to hire a house keeper! He, yes I gave him a name, keeps the tile floors very clean and the carpet fresh! He did not take long to lean the layout of the apartment- maybe 5 cleanings. I like watching him figure out how to overcome an object that I put in his path!!! He gets around it.

Works great. Avoids obstacles. App is easy to use. Cleans well. Great for cleaning up litter around the litter box and food my cats have thrown all over the place. Cleans up hair and pet hair. I was expecting to still have to vacuum manually sometimes but I don’t.

Great product. It took a couple days to really get it to map the house and do a thorough cleaning. But it is up and running and doing a great job! Easy programming . I was impressed it took a picture for an area it couldn't get to. I got a notification on my phone. Pretty cool. You can schedule the cleanings as well. Very helpful in large square footage homes.

So far so great! This makes such a difference for us for our home maintenance. It is a little loud so I recommend using it either when you aren’t home or when you won’t be bothered by the noise. Easy to setup and works off of your phone. Love the programming features too.

This is my thirtd Roomba vacuum and by far the one that has given the most problems. The base contantly gives leak error which requires me to open the lid, remove the dirt disposal bag, re install and close the lid again. If I do t do this it wont empy the bin. The vacuum gets stuck more than the previous models I owned which didn't even have camera. Every now and then it wont charge. I have set up the maps and when I put a custom cleaning order it gets lost and wont clean properly and just ends up returning to base. Cleaning performance is good however.

My house is mostly wood and tile and it was getting to be a pain having to sweep a couple times a week. This is my first Robot vacuum and it is awesome! After its initial setup, which was easy, it has a map on the app and I can label the rooms, set up no go zones, set schedules to clean, how good to clean. It reminds me of when it needs maintenance, which is very minimal. Does great on wood, tile and carpet. The Bad...Every so often it fails to charge and the battery drains and it disconnects. Sometimes its dirty connectors and they need to be wiped down, sometimes it misaligned itself and it has to be picked up and set back down right. Not a bad problem considering how much time this thing saves me.

I love this little robot helper. I had unending dog hair balls everywhere but now there is no evidence of a dog at all when the irobotj7 gets done. It makes a daily run around the house and I love that I have less clean up! It is a great addition to a dog family for sure and does a great job. I have had other brands in the past that doesn't compare to this irobotj7!

iRobot is innovating again. The company which had become synonymous with robot vacuums has added a twist with their latest J7 cleaning machine: object detection and avoidance. Unfortunately, in focusing on innovation, they may have left some of the conveniences for which they were known for behind. The app will let you set boundaries which the cleaner should not cross. Before you can do this, a map is created. It took 3 runs and 10 hours to complete the initial map. An early version of the map looked like a house the PIcasso might have designed with no right angles anywhere! The instructions aren’t clear that this version of the vacuum uses visible light to identify walls and objects to avoid. This accounted for much of the 6 hours that the first run took, as I started it overnight, before going to sleep. There is a small LED “headlight” which allows Steve (we renamed him) to see where he’s going in the dark. However, it was not sufficient to identify the objects he wanted to avoid. This meant he was bumping into things all night and redirecting. This was especially true in the kitchen, when navigating around the chairs. Cleaning convenience is very good. Once the map was completed, Steve was able to clear the kitchen and two adjacent rooms in under an hour. He was also emptied his dustbin into the base, so he was ready to clean again the next day. The automatic emptying from the base is what separates the J7 and J7+. The automatic bin emptying is not perfect and left some larger, heavier particles in the vacuum’s dirt bin. However, it certainly made room so I don’t have to worry about it daily. It’s nice to have, but I’m unsure if it’s worth the extra cost. The kit came with 2 bags. The manual claims that each bag will hold dirt from 6 weeks worth of vacuuming. From what I could see, it could even be more, even with the 2 cats I have shedding everywhere! Unfortunately, the speed has not improved over time. In rooms with furniture (like our dining room with it's chairs), Steve is constantly bumping into things, looking around, then going back to the same place. It took so long to clean, that he had to go back to his home base and re-charge just to finish the job. All told, it was 2:20 minutes to clean 570 sq ft. This included 30 minutes of charging time. Cleaning power was good. I ran my regular vacuum over the same carpet that Steve cleaned in the morning. It came away with hardly any dust in the bin. That suggests that Steve is picking up what’s there, leaving me with clean carpets and floors. In the end, that’s all you can ask for from a robot vac.

This roomba has been a shinning light since I've gotten it several weeks ago. My floors were covered with dog hair constantly from our shedding mutt that we had to vacuum almost twice a week. Now our floors stay pretty clean the entire time while I spot clean other areas in the house. Setup was fairly quick and easy. We got it up and mapping the house within 3 hours after charging. Its been on a Mon-Fri schedule ever since. The only bad thing is that it has gotten stuck in our bathrooms if it knocks the open door closed. Thats only happened once while I was a lt work and another time while working in the garage. I haven't tried seeing how the pet waste avoidance works but can update this if and when it occurs. Overall I'm glad we went a little bit over my comfort level in price, but I think its well worth it.

This vaccum is exactly what we were looking for. With several pets in the house we were always lugging out the vaccum to clean and getting frustrated when the battery died and couldn’t finish the job. Now this neat little irobot does tge hard work and charges when it needs to. We are so happy with this purchase!

This has been a great little vacuum. I have 3 dogs, including a Great Pyrenees and a corgi (HUGE shedders). I needed help keeping up with all the fur, and this vacuum has performed much better than I expected. I run it every day due to the large amount of fluff. Hair does get wrapped around things, but it’s really easy to clean compared to other vacuums I’ve used. The bag also fills much more slowly than I was anticipating. My only complaint is that when it’s emptying into the bag, it sounds like an airplane taking off and is very loud. It’s only a few seconds thankfully, but something to keep in mind since I wasn’t prepared for it and thought it was imploding.

We've been using our Roomba for about 5 weeks, and it has been nothing short of amazing. It is very quiet (except when emptying the bag into the base station, which is fast) and does a great job of cleaning the entire space we need cleaned. It took about two cleaning passes to get the floor map created, which is very accurate. The app is intuitive, and the feedback from the app is very helpful with both telling me when the device needs service (cleaning a roller, etc.) or when it needs to know what to do with an encountered obstacle (it snaps photos of what it encountered!). We have two cats, and did have a lot of cat hair on the floors until our Roomba took over. We run it three days a week, and the floors are clean from edge to edge. Could not be happier with this purchase.

Absolutely wonderful product. Very impressed with how the Roomba has mapped our entire floor and is able to navigate flawlessly to the exact room I want cleaned. We have a lot of furniture in the house and it hasn't gotten stuck even once so far.

High quality robot with great features like mapping and ability to detect stairs with no invisible wall gadjet needed. Does a really great job cleaning and self emptying bin is cool and efficient. It is also much quieter than my prior roomba App is very easy to use. I am a fan and would highly recommend.

Its a great robot, but not a great vacuum which is a little disappointing because of the price point. It’s smart, and learns how to navigate around obstacles but suction is a little weak. Anything more significant than minor dust or debris would require multiple passes to get picked up. This functions well as an in between maintenance kind of tool, but doesn’t replace the vacuum altogether which is what i wanted it for.

The Roomba J7 vacuum is a life saver! With 4 animals in my home there is a lot of pet hair especially after winter. With the J7, I am able to create custom vacuum jobs and schedule them to take place at determined times of the day. The J7 is smart and learns quickly your house plan and what is an obstacle and what isn’t. I love that I can set up clean zones within a room to get extra clean. The self emptying feature is loud but so worth not having to deal with dust or hair flying back in my face. Some litter or similar objects are hard to get 100% vacuumed up but overall this is worth the purchase.
