Only "issue" is it changes screen size and resolution on my laptop which moves the icons around when the resolution and everything is returned to the original settings upon disconnecting it from the computer.

Well designed adaptor

It works perfectly because I leave the DVI cable connected to our tower and then connect the VGA cable to this adaptor and plug into my work laptop. The adaptor itself is well designed because it seats firmly on the VGA cable and the included captive screws prevent it from separating off the cable. It's a nice piece and would serve you nicely if you have an older setup as I do. I would recommend this for sure.

Worked perfectly after I also connected the enclosed USB cable, which I assume supplies power to the adapter. Previously, I had purchased another, similar, adapter of a different brand that did not have the USB cable. With that adapter, although the connectors fit both the input and output, the computer's output did not appear on the display. It appears that additional power to the adapter is required when connecting these two devices.

Posted .Easily connecting another monitor to your computer is now possible, simply connect the HDMI male end into your computer, a VGA cable to the TV, monitor, projector and you're all set. If needed; technical assistance can be obtained by contacting support on the packaging and a representative will be ready to help.

Especially since the J5 adapters usually have actual holes to screw VGA and DVI cables onto for the female side. They also appear to require less driver hunting.

Got her another set but they were on the ear - she hated them. I am now replacing with the set that she loves!! Happy camper now!!!

Worked exactly as it should. Also has a spot to plug in a mini USB if it's not pulling enough power from the source which is a nice feature.
