I used it with my work laptop to be able to communicate with Ethernet barcode scanners when developing software. It gives me the ability to have one port with a static address and not mess up my laptop settings for the built in port

Nice Product

Along with having a stable non-wireless connection, I also have extra USB ports for other accessories. You can save your money and buy this instead of the 1st party branded item of similar capacity.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking to get a wired Ethernet adapter for my MacBook Pro Retina Display and the price of a Thunderbolt Adapter and this was very similar. The Good thing of this USB 3 Adapter is that after the download (it does come with a CD) of the software is a very easy installation and the good thing is that it includes a USB 3 Hub. Neat. More ports. On the bad side it should include a Power Adapter for when you need to run more than one Hard Drive on the hub.
