||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Due to recurring glitches in the video display from my HP Envy desktop my tech guy recommended trying a"bypass" from the on-board HDMI and re-routing the signal with the USB to HDMI adapter. Solved the video display problem, though occassionaly I am getting compatibility message boxes from my VUDU source saying it cannot stream in HD. Not sure what this issue is about, but the problem of no video display at all is solved. The item does what it was designed to do. Load the driver connect the cables and you are ready to go.

At first, I plugged it in usb on the right side of my laptop. It doesn’t work. Then, I try to plug it into usb on the left side. It works! I don’t know why but I don’t care. Just it works all I need

Originally bought a cheap Chinese made module off of Amazon which required the use of separate drivers and still did not work. Purchased this, plugged it in, hooked up the monitor and it immediately worked. Would recommend this to someone looking to add an additional hardware item to their PC.

Works ok but needs some improvement

However, lately the monitors are flipped (the one on the left is now on the right and vice versa) ) and it's an annoyance. I found a couple of forums that said I should update the software on the adapter and that seemed to work for a while but now it's back doing the same thing again. I just physically swapped the monitors and it's stable for now.
