It does it less and less the longer it is attached but it is still annoying.

Macbook pro adapter for HDMI for external monitors

My intention was to hook a 2nd monitor to my Lenovo laptop using USB-C to HDMI adapter. Unbeknownst to me was the laptop USB-C port was not powered and could only handle passive devices such as portable external drives, attaching iPhone to laptop, etc. So it did not have enough power to handle the HDMI signal. I ended up returning it but I am sure it works just fine in other applications

Posted .Due to the JCA153G requiring your device to support video output via USB-C, it is possible that some devices may not be compatible with this adapter. In such scenarios, we have different models that are software based and will work for you. Great device for connecting PC's to large screens

Quality of this device is excellent and price was just right. Highly recommended for PC's. Note that this is not compatible with Apple Macs as those proprietary machines require a Thunderbolt 3 or above connection and while it looks like a USB-C port, it is not compatible.

Quality adapter
