The only drawback is that if the HDMI outlet may not provide a charge back the the device on the USB-C end. So, if it is a phone to a tv, the phone will eventually run out of power. I'm exchanging this for the next one up which allows for multiple inputs so we can charge simultaneously.

Handy adapter for HDMI

I kept it anyway because I might need it in the future to plug in another HDMI cord into my laptop. I do have an external storage that is HDMI so I can use this adapter for that when needed.

Posted .Due to it's PnP nature, the JCA153G is able to output video signal in seconds; simply connect to your DP alt-mode/Thunderbolt 3 supporting device and done.

Perfect to connect my HDMI monitor!

I purchased a new display monitor and my new work computer did not have the right port to plug in the external monitor. This adaptor came to the rescue! Just what I needed to allow me to display my zoom calls on my larger external monitor. No noticable loss in color or resolution and not much delay before the image displays once I turn on my laptop. The perfect buy for my needs, at the time. Not the cheapest adaptor, but sometimes you have to pay to play. I would purchase this product again if needed in the future.

Posted .Because the Samsung S8 supports DP alt-mode, you can quickly, easily mirror your screen to a bigger display - simply plug in the USB-C to the phone, the HDMI end into the TV and that's all!.
