Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the UP MOVE Activity Tracker's sleep and step tracking, ease of use, and long battery life. Many appreciate its small size and accurate readings, along with the affordable price and helpful app. However, some customers have experienced issues with the clip detaching from clothing and syncing problems with their phones. A few also noted that it lacks waterproofing.

My husband purchased this with the hope of being able to wear it to work. He's not ever bought a wrist fitness band because it would easily be broken in his line of work. We were disappointed to find that it must be in close range to a Bluetooth phone in order to record activity. He cannot have a phone on him during work so it defeated the purpose for him.

On line instructions hard to understand. Readings hard to understand. Equipment very secure on belt. I'm sure if the transmission to the iPhone worked, it would be adequate for my purpose.

My husband purchased the Jawbone UP for me as a gift and as an incentive for my exercise. It is not Smartphone friendly. It kept dropping the App. Was very frustrated.

What does this do that the iPhone 6 doesn't do? Not much unless you need a $50 device to track your moods.

Lightweight & Low Cost + Best App

In addition to the Jawbone Move... I have previously used a Misfit, Jawbone Up, and Fit bit over the past 3 years. This one is by far my favorite - once you buy the optional wrist bands. The device itself uses a watch battery and does not need to be charged. It is also water resistant, which means it can be worn in the shower even (not for swimming though). You can leave it on constantly - there is no need to take it off except in 3 to 6 months when it needs a new battery. I have tendinitis and Carpal tunnel in my wrists, and the other fitness trackers I tried irritated my wrists greatly. Especially the UP and Fit bit, they were heavier and needed to be tighter on the wrist to be accurate. I wont go into the wrist straps because that would need to be a separate review, but I will say they are comfortable and lightweight. The application itself is amazing, by far the best I have used yet as an all around tool. I also keep track of my diet, and I do make sure to log my sleep. When tracking steps simply wearing it gives you information on Percent to goal, active time, longest time active, longest time idle, total burn, active burn, and resting burn. When logging an exercise (press once then hold on second press - then press when done) the next time you sync you select the exercise type it was and the level of intensity. It then gives you time worked out, steps, pace, and total burn. It keeps these values in an easy way to view separate from the rest of your daily goal. The display for sleep has the best visual information displaying when you were awake, sleeping lightly, and deep asleep. The bars are incredibly clear and easy to read at a glance. You get percent to goal, sound sleep, how long to fall asleep, time awake, light sleep, how long you were in bed, and how many times you woke up. The diet tracking is the true hidden gem to the jawbone app. I have used several others including a few paid apps and this is the best one. First to log food, not only can you type in the food - but you can scan the bar codes for more accurate tracking. As a bonus - if you are out to eat - with GPS enabled you can bring up the menu of the restaurant you are eating at and see the calories and such before ordering, this is just incredible. After you have logged your food, you can see how many calories eaten, how many in current meal, and how many left to your goal. In addition - the best part of this app is it gives more data than calories. Percentage based on recommended amount of Fiber, Unsat Fat, Carbs, Protein, Sugar, Sat Fat, Sodium, and Cholesterol. Its easy to log your food and even easier to see what you have left for the day and what you should avoid eating. If you have friends that use the app, you can not only see what they log for activity, food, and sleep (if they choose to share), but you can also challenge them to duels, comment, ect. The jawbone up is the fitness tracker for me, and even after buying the additional bands... was less expensive.
