Very comfortable and the look is unobtrusive. I am able to wear to the office everyday. The battery life is pretty long, about 8 days, so I don't have to worry about recharging too often. After about 3 months of normal use, the band broke and I was no longer able to wear it. Since it was before the one year warranty expired, Jawbone customer service was very helpful. They shipped out a new replacement quickly and provided a return label for the defective band. I have had any issues with the clasp so far.

I had tried various styles of the "activity trackers" this was one of the better ones that had an adjustable app input. Meaning if there is something that the tracker can not "track" you can add it manually. I went with the gray version but it discolored after several days. the clasp can be a little hard to do at times and on two occasions it came off.

This is the replacement up band after the original one broke. This one is no different. The band broke after using it for a couple of times. My original UP24 is still sturdy. Don't get this one..

    Up2 is a great replacement for Up24!!

I was initially a little wary of this product from Jawbone as the delay on Up3 had me concerned. I purchased it from Best Buy the day it launched and have really been impressed. The design is small and sleek - much different than the Up24 (which I didn't care as much for the design). The BT functionality worked perfectly from the start. I still think the best part of the product itself is the App experience - which they must have just updated as the food, sleep and insights engine (I think they call it smart coach) is vastly improved. This is where the experience is far superior to some of the other brands in the market. I'm excited again about Up3 - which I'll have to decide if it's worth buying since I just got an Up2. And Up4 is coming with payments, which would also be really exciting but no date has been given yet.

This is so much better than the very first jawbone up band. This one is adjustable and I can get a much better fit. The battery lasts longer and is easily rechargeable. I love that it will track my sleeping habits and tells me how many steps I've done. Great product.

I love the tracker, love it because lightweight, clasp keeps coming loose. Lost it once for Five days. I bought a tiny o ring seal and put it over the clasp. Nice snug fit and clasp can't get loose anymore. Jawbone should redesign.

    Good, bad, and ugly

I'm a fan of how this version of the UP band is smaller and seems to be designed with more durability in mind. It MOSTLY has the same features I am used to (do not need a heart monitor or AMEX chip) with one exception (a bad one, IMO): the Stopwatch feature now requires you to use the app. I was OK with the app needing to be replaced, I am OK with you no longer being able to calibrate workouts (was off on a 6.08 mile walk by 0.03 miles according to the GPS breadcrumb app on my phone), but the tap-a-few-times-to-wake-up-and-change-modes seems lame. I've inadvertently put it into Power Nap mode already.I like the overall look except for the ugly imprint (I'll get used to it). All in all, it's still a pretty cool gadget and the shortcomings are not enough to make me defect.

    Some Annoyances But Fantastic App

I have really liked the UP2. It does have a few downfalls: -the clasp is a little difficult to put figure out but its the same as some watches (although it has come undone twice now which makes me nervous) -you can't switch from active to sleep and back unless wrist is perfectly horizontal (although sometimes it'll switch randomly back and forth when doing a boxing workout) BUT the app is SO GREAT that I overlook these annoyances.

    Worst Jawbone Yet

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had the original Jawbone UP. I went through a few bands, but didn't worry because I had the warranty to replace them each time. Then I got the UP24. No major complaints, I liked the new features. When the UP2 and UP3 came out, I thought I'd "upgrade" to the new model. I can't speak for the UP3, but the UP2 is TERRIBLE! It is nearly impossible to change between modes the first time you tap the band. It isn't nearly responsive enough, and you are literally sitting there tapping your band trying to toggle between modes for 20 seconds. However, the magnetic charging port on the underside of the band always activates with electrical current from the sweat on my wrists when I'm running, so the band changes between modes (INTO SLEEP MODE) when I am running! The new clasping mechanism not only comes undone easily, but it catches on sweaters, shirt sleeves, and especially my HAIR to the point of ripping it out! Also, the UP2 did away with the easy "timer" mode ability of the UP/UP24 bands. With the UP2, you have to enter timer mode FROM THE APP on your phone, completely defeating the purpose of using your band! Same goes for the "napping" mode- you have to enter nap mode from the app instead of a quick button push on the band. Don't even get me started on how mad I am that the band STILL doesn't include the time. Don't waste your money on this model. Either get the older models (now discontinued on Jawbone.com) or get a FitBit.

The band did what I wanted it to, but the band needs a secure clasp. Had it for just under 2 months before it fell off my wrist. Never heard it and land. I would only buy it again if the change the clasp. The app is Stijl useful without the band for other features except step accuracy.

The best in class fitness/activity tracker combined with the best app. Jawbone is always looking to improve this product. They came out with a firmware update about 1 month ago that enables automatic sleep tracking (instead of manual setting it up every night) and I was told that they are currently testing another update to further improve the product.

I've been happy with the JawBone UP2 after about a week of use. My friends also have UP devices and that makes using the device a lot more fun. The pedometer works well and the sleep tracking seems to do OK as well. The cool thing about the UP app is that it can link with other apps, like MyFitnessPal, and pull in food data, etc. Worth noting is that the band, in theory, can have issues. JawBone offers a free clasp piece that fixes the problem though. I recommend getting it. So far I am able to get about 6 days of battery out of it, wearing it non-stop, even in the shower. :)

    Accuracy Issues

I originally purchased an UP24 for both my wife and I. We both very much liked the UP24 and were challenging each other each week. Then we started having issues. After a while they wouldn't sync or would crash. We called Jawbone and they, without question, replaced our UP24's with UP2's. After using the UP2's for some time, we both noticed that our steps dropped dramatically! For all accounts, we hadn't changed our lifestyle with the exception of a few days where we knew it would drop. Jawbone marked it up as a syncing use they had and that the newest update should resolve it. In the meantime our steps will be off. My wife and I have both also had to call in for replacements for our UP2's as the bands have ripped for both of us. We have only had them for a matter of months. Overall, I would give this product a One Star had it not been for the Customer Service I have received from this company. They have truly been great to work with.

It counts my steps and tracks my sleep. Do I care if it is only 98% accurate or 100% no, because in my mind non of these things are 100%. I got this because I don't always walk with my phone and I was missing half of my steps in the day. The reason I didn't give it full stars is because there are no online options with this tracking system it is all phone app control. Second reason the clip sides off if it catches on the end of my coat. But the website said to wear it tighter and it wont happen. But I like it a little loose so I just keep in mind this as I put on and off my coat.

    Jawbone UP2

I was previously using a Jawbone up, which had to be replaced. Unfortunately, I lost the replacement so I decided to try the UP2. I love the fact that it is splashproof. The clasp is not easy to use, and it kept coming undone. Shortly after I purchased the UP2, I received an email from Jawbone, and they offered a free tiny clasp thingy. I got the new clasp guard in about a week, and haven't had any issues with it coming undone since I added that. Having to charge it is somewhat inconvenient, however, it usually stays charged for about 10 days or so.

    Clasp Does Not Work

I previously owned the Up24 band. I loved it, but after a year of use, it died on me. So when I went to get a new one, I decided to get the Up2- it was less expensive, and a new, sleeker design. Awesome right? Wrong. Within my first 24 hours of wearing my new Up2, it fell off somewhere during the day, and I was never able to find it. So I called Jawbone, and they said too bad, so sad, but here is 20% off to get a new one. And I did. I got the exact same one as before. It falls off all the time. I tighten the band in the morning, within a few hours it's loose, and then the data collected is not accurate. The clasp and the mechanism used to adjust the size are horrible. I am so disappointed with the Up2, especially after having such good luck with the Up24. I would recommend getting an Up24, or going with a fitbit that actually has a closure that works.
