Great simple system

I was drawn to the polk system which I had for a day then returned. I was bothered by the lights that stayed on the bar and the lack of volume reading. However the sound was very good. A little too much bass but good. I went to a couple of Best buys and you can get overwhelmed with the selection. I originally wanted a simple system and before you know it I was looking at $600 ones. Word of advice, You don't need to pay that much! You do not need the 3:1. This system is fine unless you have money to burn. This system is awesome watching regular tv, kids shows, movies, sports and music videos. I haven't had any issue with connection and it pairs with my Comcast remote easily.

Go For the JBL

I am liking the JBL already. The sub is alot better to me than the sony. It also integrated well with my sony tv. I would high recommend this over the sony HTCT290.

Great sound - very bad audio delay
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for Black Friday. This thing sounds absolutely awesome, with good highs and mids. Bass is slightly lacking but does not overpower the sound, which I think is an overall good balance. However, the system has one major flaw that makes the system unusable. Any time there's a pause in sound, when the sound should immediately start playing, there's a 1/2 second - 1 second delay where no sound is played. So anytime you pause a show/music, then start it up, you'll miss 1/2-1 second of sound. After hours of research, I realized this happens on their other systems as well, and there is no fix. I have two other soundbars, one Samsung and one LG, both of which do not have this issue (though their sound quality is nowhere near as good as this JBL). Makes this system completely useless, and ended with me just returning the system.

Great job JBL!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first got Sony 2.1 HTCT290 for my LG UHD 43UK63 TV, connected and after listening to it for 10 mins I knew - it is going back. I got open box JBL Bar 2.1 instead, what a difference, no need for any expert, you just know this is it. Natural voice sound, crispy clear highs and tight low end extension. Intuitive interface with legible status display from distance. Useful sound modes. I doubt there is anything I would want to change EQ wise - it is perfect from the factory. I have premium JBL in the car, small JBL Spot 2.1 computer speakers, portable JBL Charge 2+ and now JBL sound bar - no complains, ever.

Jbl 2.1 Sound bar with Sub
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read reviews and only issue I was seeing is paring sub to sound bar but all I did was turn power off on tv and sound bar started back up and press blutooth on remote and button on back of sub then hit dim for 5 secs then bass up and then down then up and it paired. I was amazed at sound of bar and sub, felt like I was at the movies. If you have a big house with big living room go with a 3.1 or higher. My house is 1300 sq so it rocked my living room. Happy

Mixed feelings
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this sound bar at the end of December 2017, by late January I had issues of the unit turning itself on and off randomly throughout the day and night. I took it back to Best Buy but it was six days past their 30 day return policy so I was on my own with JBL. I must say that JBL has excellent customer service - I returned it to them and they sent a replacement but UPS Ground there and back is not a quick resolution. The replacement arrived and worked great for just over a month. The replacement refuses to power on after a few hours of non-use unless you unplug the bar and plug it back in. Now it is going back for yet a third unit all in the course of four months. I am really hoping that this will be the last time for this, I seriously question the build quality of this unit - I would prefer to get my money back to buy something else but I know that isn't an option. Besides, when it is working it sounds fantastic! Seriously, the quality of this sound bar is excellent but I cannot in good faith recommend this for reasons of lack of reliability. I guess I am in the minority - nobody else seems to have the problems I have had.

Spent hours on web and finally found pairing instruction for subwoofer that worked. Got Bluetooth to pair with phone. Subwoofer has so little output you have to hold your hand on unit to feel it working with bass all the way up. On hold now with customer service (chat did not work either), going on 18 minutes. Will see if/how issue is resolved. Would not recommend yet.

I hated it!! Returned same day...

I have loved JBL products in the past, but this one was nothing but a disappointment. So, I wanted a sound bar, went to BB to listen to the ones they have on display. They had this model but it appeared to not have the sub hooked up. It had almost no bass. I assumed it to be a fluke knowing the JBL reputation so took a chance figuring the display model was just faulty or needed reconnected. Well, I got it home, hooked it up, and found it to also have ALMOST NO BASS... turned the bass ALL THE WAY UP using the remote and could hear a very slight improvement, but still almost unnoticeable. I went to the sub itself and could feel that it was vibrating so it was on and working, but producing terribly low levels. No way I would endorse this product. No idea where these other reviews are coming from but thisone went right back to the store. I ended up with a Samsung N550, so far happy with it. Still not the bass level I would like but WAY better than the JBL.At least I can hear bass now. In hind sight, the JBL on display had very little or no bass, I should have investigated a little more there at the store before pulling the trigger I guess. Would have saved me some time. This thing is no good at all. Not sure where the other reviewers are coming from, but this was experience. The $150 Polk Audio system BLEW this one away, as does the Samsung N550 I purchased.

Huge Disappointment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this purely from my experience with JBL products. At $250.00 I really expected much more. This thing has virtually no bass and that’s with the bass turned all the way up. And, of course, that’s if the woofer remains connected. I get more bass from my doorbell. With a clear line of site at less than 20 ft the woofer constantly loses connection. It also did not “connect out of the box” as advertised. This will be returned for something that works. What a waste of time and money.

doesn’t work right
