Having the Cinemate II for 6 years, the clarity and fidelity were obviously missed in JBL 5.1. In return, the user will get a subtle immersive sound and a good bass but I didn't think that those feature is enough for me to keep a $500 dollar sound system. In the end, I returned the JBL 5.1 and kept my 6-yr old Bose system.

I was convinced by the store rep but regret not doing my full research. Maybe it was the fact that everything else in the store at this price range sounded like poop. Sound is spontaneously loud and too low mostly. Can't seem to find a good sweet spot. Also, make sure its fully compatible with your TV. I made it work on my Sony but was very complicated.
