I shopped for this with my daughter for a housewarming gift. I was an acoustical engineer for JBL and preferred this over the other brands and my daughter preferred it too. And the salesperson gave us a discounts of $100 for price matching. A win win!

Pretty happy with this system. Sounds is pretty good

It was perfect for about a year and half. Now the sub keeps cutting in and out. I don’t know if it’s a connection thing but for 400 i would expect more.

The Best Buy associate arrived earlier than expected, went right to work and had the system install done quickly. He was very nice and polite through the whole experience. When he was done he showed us how the operate the system and patiently answered all our questions before he left.

It was marked as an "excellent" openbox product but it was not. The soundbar itself would over heat, even when it was on standby.

By using hdmi on the arc on the tv and when turn it off you have to adjust again and again until it detect the sound bar.. and i go to best buy again to buy the optical cord and also without turning off the sound bar but it sounds great.....

I purchased this Nov 2020 but didn't open the box until May 2021. This with my 65 In Samsung TV is the best thing ever! I can hear the music throughout the house. The sound quality, value and easy set up makes this purchase WORTH IT.

Its loud but the sound quality is not there. Returned this one and bough the same model latest release and its a great difference

It’s junk! The sound bar gets hot. It starts making a buzzing noise, and no longer get audio from it. Bought it in March and I’m not able to return it.

This is a good mid to entry range set for a subwoofer with soundbar. I think the $600 msrp price doesn’t match performance but if you can manage to get it on sale that I would highly recommend it.

Surprisingly JB;L 3.1 is better than 5.1. There are very minimal options on the remote. There is no sound mode. JBL3.1 has a bass level upto 30 whereas 5.1 only has 6. I didnt return and ended up keeping.

I have the 3.1 as well and absolutely loved it. I went to buy a second one not long ago and the new 5.1 was cheaper. What I thought was an upgrade is not. I lost some sound functionality and the system itself (had I not hard three 3.1) sounds great but the 3.1 just sounds better and louder. There's glitches with three Bluetooth where I can only have one device paired at a time (when using a secondary phone I have to 'forget' and pair again) which is a nuisance. I love JBL audio but disappointed in this purchase.

Big bass & fine for TV but not great for music. The sound bar sounds flat with music. For the $$$, I thought it would be a more dynamic sound. Returned it & went with Sonos.

On paper, this JBL soundbar looks legit. It's 5.1 channel with a huge 10" subwoofer. On the plus side, the subwoofer was excellent. However, sound is really bass heavy and dialogue comes in very muffled and you have basically zero sound adjustability. You can only control the subwoofer level. Other soundbars (even the cheaper vizios) have more sound customization abilities than this. At the end, I opted to pay a little more for the LG-SN8YG, which I highly recommend. Tons of sound customization to fit your preference and it just sounds good when you catch it on sale for $500.

The bass can be very low and good depending on the movie you are watxhing.. i still wanted more bass! But the soundbar I think lacks more fidelity and more liviness i feel is too dull for being a JBL Prime soundbar.. just my opinion 8/10 in my opinion...

This is good for small room and if you are not fond of high volume. At full volume, it is Nosie gets burst. At this point I am enjoying especially movies and video games. Setup is little complex. I think this will be better with add on room speakers

I would say I’m the average joe when it comes to sound bars. This one has performed extremely well so far so honestly if you’re just trying to add better sound to your tv time, this should be fine. I’d recommend it 10/10.

Did not want to invest $1000 for a spectacular soundboard and settled for this model. Expected more bass sound when listening to music, but for the price, it is ok.

When connected to the PS4 it sounds good, but not great. When connected to our Samsung TV, you can hardly tell the subwoofer is on when the volume of the soundbar is up and the bass is at 5. There absolutely are NO room shaking bass like some reviews stated. We have tried everything thinking we did something wrong but nothing has helped. We checked the settings on the TV, repaired the sub, reset the sub and soundbar, replaced the HDMI cable 2x, tried using a digital cable etc...and NOTHING works. We were are extremely disappointed in this JBL 5.1 soundbar and cannot recommend this.

It’s a loud system, but it’s finicky. I had trouble with it disconnecting, I had to move my router since that seems to be what was causing BT interference. After I sorted the disconnection issue it’s been good.
