Awesome sound for price, bass is very deep and highs are crisp,

Adds depth with little effort to your TV watching experience. I would not call it "surround sound" because it doesn't really give that effect. If you are looking to add a little bit extra to basic TV watching, this soundbar system will do the trick. I did not give it more than 3 stars because it does not process Dolby Digital using the fiber optic cable when connected to the output on a Samsung HDTV. I enabled all appropriate options on the TV and it did not change anything. The DirecTV mini genie boxes do not allow you to plug into an optical audio out and therefore you cannot process any Dolby Digital signals. If you want true surround sound, invest in an audio amplifier that supports 5.1 or 7.1 and get all of the necessary speakers. They need to forgo the optical connection on the soundbar and give you an HDMI input and output so you can run ANY cable or satelite box thru the soundbar and then to your TV to process the Dolby Digital signals.

Part of the problem was that I was trying to replace a high power receiver and a nice set of tower speakers with a sound bar, which was probably not fair to this speaker set. That said, this set seems to be missing some of the 'oomph' that I feel like a $400 set should have. Even when the sub was connected (more on that below), it just sounded light. I've been a JBL/Harmon fan for years, but just couldn't do it. I wound up returning it to the store after about a week. Also, maybe it was just mine, but there was this very audible and highly annoying sound that I heard from the sub at a fairly regular interval - almost like a 'click' or a 'bloop.' Maybe it was user error (which, I admit, is possible), but I was so underwhelmed by the sound that I didn't even bother troubleshooting much beyond that. Again, perhaps I would have liked this better had this not been something of a downgrade for me. Your mileage may vary.

We love the sound quality from our JBL - Soundbar with 6.5 Wireless Subwoofer. It pairs very well with our Samsung - 65" Class - LED - 2160p - Smart - 3D - 4K Ultra HD TV for true movie sounds.

Great sound for movies and games, not so much for music.

Returned and bought Klipsch and Bose. Klipsch is better buy for the price. Bose has better base but, has cord attached. Klipsch is wireless and bluetooth. Great for music from iHart and Pandora from phone.

I was disappointed with the sound so I exchanged it for a Yamaha Sound Bar

Great sound from such a small system. I've purchased several sound bars in the past and had to return them because the sound was terrible. This JBL will not be going back.

Love this thing! Got it for 250.00, has HDMI port, works flawlessly. Sound is full and rich. No problems at all connecting if you read the directions. Highly recommend

In store I listened to the top of the line JBL soundbar and it was very good, but I chose the second best because I simply liked the sound quality better

We were looking for a soundbar and found this one. The quality of sound is really good. I would definitely recommend it. You do get what you pay for.

It sounds great....when it is working correctly. Subwoofer constantly disconnects from the bluetooth. Not sure why this happens but it is so frustrating. I wish it had a wired option as well as bluetooth. I like that I can play my music from my ipod with the bluetooth.

Can't tell if it adds to the quality of the sound or not
