I underestimated the power of the subwoofer. Beautiful, crisp sound waves hit you as lightsabers clash and they shake the windows. It looks fantastic, and sounds the as good as it looks.

My husband purchased this without reading any reviews. It is awful. We would not recommend it for anyone. I wanted to return it the first day, but he wanted to give it some time.

I would recommend this sound bar because it puts out a full and rich sound; just like being at a cinema or a concert.

    Good soundbar, but not perfect

Pros: Good sound quality, sleek design, expansive home theater experience Cons: Poor bluetooth functionality, virtual surround is underwhelming, remote leaves much to be desired Summary: Good soundbar, but is it good for the price? If you don't care about bluetooth functionality or surround sound, you will be happy with the JBL SB350. Although I would consider some other options first. The first thing I noticed when unpackaging the box was a lack of any real manual. There is a basic set-up guide, however some of the features that come included like the Harman audio setting and virtual surround you have to figure out for yourself. Aesthetically, the soundbar looks nice and sleek with the metal grille and silver trim. It looked really good under my Sony 55W800C. On top of the soundbar are 5 buttons for power, source, volume up, volume down and bluetooth. Behind the bar are the ports for AUX, RCA, HDMI ARC output, optical and USB for charging devices and software updates. Your TV needs and HDMI ARC port to use this soundbar with HDMI, otherwise you will have to use optical or RCA. There is the AC power in port, a power switch and an EQ switch for setting the system on a table or mounting it on a wall. Although I didn't notice much difference between the 2 settings. One thing that is nice is the inclusion of cables for RCA, Optical and HDMI. Everything you need to get set-up is included. Unfortunately, there is no IR repeater so if it blocks your TV's IR receiver there is no pass-through. You will have to either wall mount your setup or elevate your TV to get around the issue. I had an initial problem getting the bluetooth wireless subwoofer to pair up but after a few tries I got it working. It worked great and never lost connection after that. The sound quality from the bar is great, especially for watching movies. I was impressed by the cinematic quality and big sound this thing can produce. High's and mid's sound clean, clear and crisp. Low's are big and deep. On the flipside of that however, the subwoofer is a little overpowering at times, even with the bass turned all the way down. Unless you have Harman audio turned on the dialogue is usually too quiet and gets drowned out by the bass when the action picks up. This won't bother everybody, but I found it very annoying trying to pick up dialogue while watching Kingsman: The Secret Service. The included credit card remote is about as basic as it gets. there are buttons for changing the 4 inputs and adjusting volume, treble and bass. As well as a mute button, feedback reduction button, and buttons for switching in-between stereo and Harman display surround modes. The button in the bottom right is for switching Harman volume on and off. Again, there is no manual to tell you what these are or how they work, you just have to figure it out for yourself. There is no LCD display or LED feedback like the Vizio models have, so you have to judge by ear how much you are adjusting each setting. At this price point I was expecting a little more. Considering the competition from Yamaha, Vizio and Sony have better remotes out there I was a little disappointed. When it comes to the virtual surround, unless you have a small room or you blast the volume, the virtual surround doesn't fill the room very well. I wasn't expecting much from a 2.1 system but even still the end result left me feeling underwhelmed. Definitely not a viable substitute for true surround sound. There really isn't any sound enhancement or customization to speak of. There is no DTS support, and you cannot adjust the sub woofers output. Treble and bass are the only adjustments that can be made. I've read others talking about this soundbar's poor performance when playing music. In my experience the music sounds just as good as anything else as long as you keep the virtual surround off, and use the auxiliary input. I had a few issues with the bluetooth pairing trying to play music off of my phone. Took several tries but I got my phone (S6 active) to pair eventually. Although you do have to keep your phone in close proximity to the soundbar. Even after moving my phone as little as 5 feet away the sound became distorted. This soundbar does not have the Apt-X bluetooth codec, which is a feature that some of the competition has in this price range. (Vizio SB4051-CO, Yamaha YAS-203) and the audio quality over bluetooth suffers for it. I found that using the AUX input gave better sound quality and stability anyway so that's something to keep in mind. All in all, it's a decent soundbar. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone that's counting on the virtual surround sound, or anyone that plans on playing music over bluetooth. But if you want ease of use and a decent upgrade to your TV's speakers you can't go wrong with the JBL SB350, just try some other options first. If you want the ease of use with a soundbar and surround sound, I'd recommend checking out the Vizio SB4051-CO
