I didn’t get to test a demo model in store so the whole unit is a complete surprise. It’s bigger than I thought it would be. It comes with a carrying strap and it’s because it’s that big. The strap works perfect and it is very important part of the speaker. The photo shows the size next to a standard pen. The battery life is great and compared to other speakers I’ve owned even JBL models it last a very long time. The Bluetooth link up is super easy and after you turn it on the link up is instantaneously. The sound quality is what you would expect from JBL. The bass is very noticeable and the highs are crisp. I’m giving it 4 stars because it’s not very loud. Don’t get me wrong it’s loud but due to the size of it you would think it would be louder. I’ve had several JBL charges and for the size they are loud. Comparing to the Charge and the name Extreme this things should be LOUD but it’s not. If I was able to test it before I purchased it I probably would have looked into louder units.

Was looking for a speaker that could be heard without being to in the way and this one was perfect. I normally go with BOSE but this was a better deal and honestly might be the one that steals me from BOSE. The only two cons is that it needs a carry case or carrying box other than the original box it came with kind of like a protection box when not in use. Also a handle versus the carry strap.

Originally I had the megaboom, but I had it for 3 years and the battery was failing so I needed a new speaker. I did a bunch of research and decided the xtreme would suit my needs. I typically use my speaker when I’m out of the house, at beaches, rivers or parks, the xtreme is loud enough that you have no issues being in the water, slashing about and getting to listen to your tunes. It also an charge your devices! A definite plus but the Lourdes you go the faster the battery dies.

So portability is grest because even though its big you got your strap throw it over your shoulder and you forget its there, loudness is perfect you might have to put the treble mids and bass up on the app, and switch your phones music to last night and it blasts for sure, bass is great when you have the mids and trebles all the way down (bass all the way up) battery is great, and quality is crystal clear love this speaker, i wouldnt pay 379 i would wait for a sale, mine was 229, take it to work everyday!

Amazing clarity with some nice little oomph of bass for a little/medium-ish speaker. Dusk and water proof are a big plus. Doesn't float so get it a lifejacket!

I am so pleased with my JBL speaker! JBL has always delivered high quality products and is a respected and trusted name brand! As a kayak rental business owner I am always on the water. This waterproof stereo has been put to the test without any issues whatsoever and BestBuy made it so easy and affordable. Highly recommended!

Speaker is great always loved the jbl sound quality 350 dollars is a little to much for this speaker it use to be 300 for the xtreme models but guess they up the price on them everything is basically the same as the xtreme 2 just the xtreme 3 has better control over the bass where the bass isn't overpowering the sound it's more balanced

Good speaker. Its loud but need more bass for its size. If it had the same bass as my harman/Kardon studio 7 it would be a awesome speaker. The JBL is louder but just needs the bass.

Big stereo sound sounds way bigger than it is! Great for family gatherings, rocking the office, camping, ect. Perfect for both indoor and outdoor use!

At first I only had a Flip 6, and I was already impressed. I decided to upgrade to an Xtreme 3 when I noticed it on sale for a fairly low price, and I could not be happier. The sound quality is superb and using the equalizer on the JBL app with increased bass is even more impressive. Though the battery life does run a little short, I have no complaints and would recommend it to anyone.

One of the best speakers I’ve ever had, used it as a replacement for my car stereo as it was not working. Was just as loud.

Speaker is great, I had a blue extreme 3 at one time I bought from Best Buy, turned around and came to buy another. I love this speaker and works very well. I dropped my blue one in a 10ft pool and still came out to work well. Love the quality, and love the speaker
