An excellent mid-size speaker that is good for families with younger children. We use this a lot for music and audiobooks. It is robust (read: NOT fragile), but it isn't too heavy for carrying around the house and out of doors.

I have the Charge 4 but was looking for more sound quality. This speaker sounds great and has the better quality sound I was looking for. I am happy with my purchase and I would recommend this speaker. I bought it on sale as I would not have paid full price, it's not that good.

The sound is great and it does have some nice bass. The problem is portability. In order to get the sound or wattage claimed by the manufacturer, you must have the device plugged in. I have a charge3 and it sounds loud enough and doesnt require a plug to produce its rated sound. Buy this if you dont mind keeping your “portable” device plugged to get the sound you are looking for.

This us a superior speaker to anything on the market. We use this speaker daily in the shower area and all around the house. The JBL speaker works awesome. It has a very rich base sound and really gives us a lot of enjoyment.
