The packaging is nice and compact. The extra ear cuffs are hidden in the blue plastic bottom where the headphone case is. The charging case for the headphones is big but still not heavy. The charger for the case/headphones is a rubber piece wrapped around the case. It’s convenient to have the charger built into the case but it is a little snug and hard to get on there not sure about the durability of it for long term use. The case doubles as a charging case and also can charge your phone as a battery pack. The ear buds charge quickly. The sound is not bad, the earpieces fit into the ear really tight and cuts off the sounds around you. A big con for me with the headset is the controls. they are clunky. It is hardtop control the volume and pause and playing on the device. Its not very intuitive and does not respond correctly, it takes a bit of fighting with them to get them to respond the way you want it to. To much time is spent trying to get the controls to work properly.

Ahh.. with a name like Epic Air True Wireless, I was expecting an Epic experience with these. Five minutes out of the box i had issues with them. First and foremost, the touch controls are way too sensitive. Simply adjusting the earbuds in my ears will trigger the touch controls and change the volume. I don't see a need for a touch sensitive volume control when you can adjust the volume with your device which leads me to the second issue I had with these earbuds. Adjusting the volume with my phone has a significant delay, when adjusting the volume with physical buttons on my phone it literally took a good 10 - 15 seconds for the change to take effect on the earbuds. Maybe it can be fixed with a firmware update, but it is awful and unacceptable. The 3rd issue I had with these earbuds, and it could just be my ears, but out of the 7 pairs of tips they provide for them, only 1 set fit my ears snugly enough to seal and isolate sound. All the rest fit way too loose. Sound is mediocre at best, there is almost no Bass, treble and mids are balanced and sound ok, but the lack of bass is disturbing and makes most music sound lifeless. The best things these earbuds have going are that they are wireless and the battery life is pretty good. The hooks are comfortable enough to wear for extended periods / while working out. I did like that the charging cable can be stowed with the charging case. Honestly though, I would take a pair of good sound wired earbuds over these. The finicky and sensitive touch controls are inconvenient and they frankly don't sound all that great. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone who expects great sounding earbuds at this price point. Pros - Wireless Battery life , easy convenient charging Cons -Mediocre sound Quality Touch Controls aren't great Noticeable Lag when adjusting volume Poor seal / sound isolation with included rubber tips

    Functionality needs improvement

JLAB has a good product that is being held down by the user functionality. They're comfortable, sound good and battery life is good as long as the battery case is fully charged. For simple task like increasing or decreasing volume it becomes a tedious process. Most of the times I ended up pausing and playing the song constantly trying to adjust volume by the single tap method. An easier method would of been of just holding it. Singles taps are used for pausing music, activating Siri/Google and volume adjustment. Most of the time I ended up activating one of this even when removing the headset or adjusting it for a tighter fit. If it wasn't for those shortcomings these would of been my daily driver headsets. Hopefully the next version addresses this shortcomings and an app could help a lot too.

    Really Good

I have only two complaints about these ear buds. They are not loud enough, and the controls listed in the user manual are only accurate if you're using both at the same time. 4&1/2 stars is more accurate than 4. I bought these specifically to use only one at a time, as I wear them at work for my phone and to listen to radio, and like to keep one ear open. They are perfect for this. With previous ear buds, I had to hook one on the back of my collar since they had a cord between them, and it constantly fell out. Great sound, great connectivity, great range. The case stays powered for DAYS, and the buds themselves live up to the 6 hours promised. I definitely recommend this product!

    Better wireless performance, frustrating controls

Pro -Comfortable -Comes with 8 different ear tips -Battery charging case -Good battery life -Equalizer is controlled via earbuds, not an app -Long wireless range -Good battery life -IP55 -aptX Support Con -Touch controls are very finicky -Music audio is good, but not great -No place to store the extra ear tips in the carrying case -Audio lags behind video -Connectivity between the two buds hiccups occasionally -Horrible ambient sound mode Overall The TL/DR here Is the Epic Air Elite True Wireless has a lot of great features going for it, like the great battery/carrying case, long battery life, and IP55 dust/water protection. But the touch controls make them extremely frustrating to use as the buds require a very specific speed of tapping and touching to do what you want. For more detail, keep reading. In typical JLab fashion, the Epic Air set is quite comfortable, even for extended periods. That's largely due to the multiple ear bud tips included in various sizes, shapes, and material ( eight pair in total ). It's hard for me to think of someone who couldn't get a comfortable fit. The flexible ear hooks don't pinch down and are more for extra insurance against falling off, but this also means less pressure on your ears. The other great feature is the carry case. Not only does it carry and protect your ear buds on the go, but it also houses a large rechargeable battery. The battery is charged via normal USB ( but doesn't come with a wall wart, not that you need one ) and the charging cable conveniently wraps around the case for storage. The case also has a full size USB port so it can charge other devices, like your phone. Sadly the case does not have a compartment to store the extra ear bud tips. But after adjusting the Epics to your ears, you may not care about taking the other ear tips with you. JLabs claims the case battery has enough capacity to charge the buds about five times before it's drained. The buds themselves are rated for six hours of operation, and they easily reach that. Audio performance on the ear buds is good, but not great. Music sounds nice, but you don't get all the clarity you will from higher-end full headphones. But that's par for tiny little ear buds. They have three built-in EQ curves and you can select between on the buds themselves; no mobile app required. The Epic Airs do have aptX for better audio quality, if your phone supports it. They're also IP55 rated for dust and water protection. Wireless range is also quite good. However, like most fully wireless headphones, the challenge is connectivity between the two buds. The right bud acts as the main hub and then sends audio to the left. This extra processing step means audio lags a bit. The Epic Air isn't quite as slow as the Sony pure wireless buds, but it's still enough to bother me when watching videos since the audio doesn't match up to the speaker. You also experience short skips every now and then when the buds get out of sync. This doesn't happen nearly as often as on the Sony pair, but it is somewhat annoying. But the most frustrating aspect of the Epic Air Elite is the touch control. The buds have only one physical button, and that's a small power switch on the inside. Everything else is done solely through the touch sensitive pads on the outside. Play/pause, volume up/down, next/prev tracks, EQ cycling, and voice commands are all handled by a variety of taps and presses on the earbuds. However, when double- and triple-tapping, you have to do so at a very specific speed or it gets misinterpreted as another command. It makes sense on paper, but actually executing it is very hit and miss ( no joke, it's 50/50 whether I get something right on the first time ). Even if it didn't have the wireless connectivity issues and a horrible ambient noise ( it lightly amplifies the very high pitch sounds around you, like keyboard clicking and finger snapping, but nothing else ) I still wouldn't like them because the finicky control scheme. If they sounded like reference studio headphones, I might be willing to suffer through the control taps. But for ear buds that sound only slightly better than average, I just don't think it's worth it. JLabs' Epic 2 or Epic Sports are the better buy. You get the same comfort, similar battery life, same audio quality, but a physical control node and no audio skipping or lag. The only difference is a short cable behind your head and they're a lot cheaper. And as much as I like the battery case here, I can't say it's worth the $50 difference.

I purchased this pair of ear buds in November, 2018, and the right ear bud stopped charging by March, 2019. Fortunately, it was still under warranty, but I had to pay to have the product shipped back to JBL only to find out the ear buds were back-ordered upon fulfillment of my warranty. For the price of this pair of ear buds, I would look to an alternate, more reliable brand as I was disappointed that I had to utilize the warranty after only 4 months.

These earbuds are truly wireless. No more dangling wire at the back of my head. It stays in place perfectly even with me fully sweating. The case is a little big but it's still better than my wired ones that I just throw in my bag. The sound though is nothing great though. It's like any other headphone sound-- however, it does the job and keep me entertained while i'm running. The tapping the sides for "ok google" and other controls takes some getting used to. There's a certain amount of pressure that i had to get used to so I know how to control. Other factors like pairing and charging is a breeze-- just pay attention to the instructions! The charger wrapped in the case is brilliant-- i just hoped they made it USB-C vs micro USB. The charge seems to last after 3 runs-- roughly 6 hours in total; this is with me sometimes forgetting to turn it off right after a run. Overall, I like it!

Many bluetooth headphones will emit a soft white noise hum. This pair emits a blaring white noise. Switch on the gimmick meant to help you be aware of your surroundings for an extremely overbearing white noise sound coming through the awful microphones on here. Sound quality matches that of a $20 pair of buds. The custom eartips and variety of styles is very nice and added comfort, but the sound of these is horrible for a $150 set.

      Hey Antyo7,
So sorry to hear of your experience in regard to sound quality, as well as the "be aware mode" Simply sounds like you received a bad unit, as this has not been an issue with the Epic Air Elites. They should be putting out nice clear sound with a rich profile and close to 110db. We do warranty these for two years, and will gladly get them replaced for you.
