I would go with a different mic. For the price you can get a better mic like the QU2

Hey there, try looking under your security/privacy settings. Some computer don't like recognizing it because the mic needs to be granted "access" to the computer. Impressive Clarity

Received my new microphone and plugged it right into my PC with no issues. I was immediately able to record audio using a built in audio recording software from my PC. Controlling the sound levels from the mic is simple with the twist of a nob for volume and gain. The sound range is really impressive and if you're not in a quiet room it will pick up external noise. I had my window ac on and the microphone could pick that up from 10ft away. Once I started talking, it drowned out the AC and it was able to pick up my voice clearly anywhere from 6inches to 10 feet away depending on my volume. I initiated a video call with my buddy and the new mic sound was definitely noticeable to him. I later tried it out with recording myself on the trumpet and the mic picks up all sound bouncing off the walls from different directions adding clarity to the recording. Overall, the mic is as simple as it gets with impressive clarity for its simplicity. It also has a great design and could be mounted to an arm for versatility if you don't want to use the included tripod.

    Nice stats, mediocre sound

The JLab Talk sports some impressive hard stats for its price point. Though the tripod stand is unusual and can take up a lot of desktop space, it feels very sturdy. The overall sound quality is mediocre but passable for the price point. All considered, this microphone is a worthy option. [ Pros ] - Three condenser count and recording resolution are good for the price - Slick aesthetic design - LED ring provides good feedback for volume and gain adjustments, as well as mute status - Long USB cable [ Cons ] - Omnidirectional mode sounds very hollow compared to the other sound modes - Adjusting the controls while streaming/recording introduces loud ‘handling’ noises - The tripod stand is unusual for this type of microphone. Full extension of the legs results in a large amount of desktop space being taken up. A basic height-adjustable stand would have been much more practical. - The four directional mode labels are quite hard to see in moderate or worse lighting. The icons are thin, small, unlit, and drowned out by the LED ring. The selection marker on the control knob is unlit and practically invisible (black on black), and the LED ring doesn’t provide any feedback while changing modes. [ Audio Profile ] In my voice recording tests, the output was clear, though a bit flat and dull. As mentioned under cons, when in omnidirectional mode, the audio profile turned very hollow. Sibilance and plosives were handled well. Distant sound sources weren’t too loud, though close, low-volume sounds, such as the fan of a laptop behind the microphone were fairly prominent in the recordings, even while in cardioid mode.

Great microphone, worked instantly out of the box. Didn't require any setup, just select it from the drop box for inputs and you're off! I use it daily for work call/video conferencing. Since I've started using it I've had comments on the sound quality improvement vs. the laptop built in mic I used previously. Very nice different settings depending on your usage setup and how many people are talking into it. Works well for me and my uses.

    It's alright

Nothing fancy about this mic, it's real simple to use. I've owned this for about a year, and the sound quality is good, it's never dropped connection, but be warned: It might cut you off while you're talking on Discord, but that's about the only real problem with it. I'd give this 3.5 stars if I could. Definitely better than the Quadcast.

    Poor Customer Support/Poor Gain Control

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

While this mic has slightly better audio quality than the more popular Blue Yeti, the gain control is terrible and inconsistent. Tested the mic at the various distances as my Blue Yeti (4 inches, 12 inches, and 24 inches) and I have to crank the gain control to max to achieve the same input volume as the Yeti. In some apps, I have to readjust the gain control because it would randomly become too loud or too quiet. With the Yeti, I just set it and forget it. The mic will also randomly disconnect from my system requiring me to reconnect it the USB connection. My Blue Yeti doesn't do this. I reached out to support for assistance and have yet to hear back from them.

    Broke after a few weeks

From buzzing to "usb device not recognized" to terrible quality, I've had it with this mic. It worked great for a few weeks, but then it started having USB troubles right in the middle of things, and now it won't even connect and is just warm when plugged in. Such a waste of money.
