    Joaquin Phoenix did a great job as Joker, however, I don't see that he was creating new ground. His character wasn't much different from Travis Bickle (Robert DeNiro) in Taxi Driver (1976). The film was extraordinarily violent. But, despite these issues, it is, overall, an entertaining film. Certainly worth viewing once, and maybe again a year or so later, but I doubt I would put it on my list of favorites and give it multiple viewings.

    An entertaining film, but has some story points that don’t fill in well with the source material. Still and all a good film.
