Musically, it's similar of Deceiver Of The Gods, but it's not a rehash. It's Amon Amarth's first concept album. Upon first listen, there's definitely the epic vibe here. Is it theatrical? No, but it's what I expect from the band. Get it now!

I've seen Amon Amarth a few times, and I am gradually picking up their CDs. They're incredibly talented musicians. I actually wish more bands sounded like them. My favorite songs on this CD are First Kill, At Dawn's First Light, and Raise Your Horns.

For those of you who are familiar with Amon Amarth, this album was greatly anticipated and was fairly well received. For those that may not be in the know however, Amon Amarth are a melodic death metal band from Sweden. The lead singer has a VERY good voice for this style of music (one of the best), and the music is much more than repetitive power chords. As for this particular album, Jomsviking is AA's first attempt at a 'concept' record and IMO, succeeds vastly. Though this is the first album to feature a new drummer, the band still sounds as crisp and on point as they did back in the 90's. As a matter of fact I would go so far as to say if any of their more recent releases would garner new fans, this album would be able to pull off that feat easily. 'Raise Your Horns', a divisive song amongst the more hardcore AA fans, has a great chorus that will get stuck in your head. '1000 arrows...' is a great mid tempo jam and songs like 'At dawns first light' represent more a typically aggressive AA tunes. All in all an excellent job all around and though Viking metal may not be for everyone, I think this is a great album to try if you aren't big fans of the genre, it may just convert you. If you are fans of death metal and angry Viking music then go get this one...NOW!

Great New Album considering it was the first time I had heard this group. Will be checking out some of their other albums.

This new release from Amon Amarth is exactly everything that you'd expect from the band and even more. Each song on here is strong and the album is great front to back. I put this in my CD player the day I got it and haven't taken it out yet as it's too good and enjoyable to do so. One of my favorite songs on this album is a slower one, "One Thousand Burning Arrows," but it still kicks teeth. If you're a fan of Amon Amarth or and Viking Metal for that matter, this CD is a must have in your collection.

Everyone's very viking themed metal band, Amon Amarth has released another headbanging masterpiece. Listen to tracks like ""On a Sea of Blood" and "Raise your Horns" and you will see what I mean. You might need some Advil after listening to this. I saw them open for Megadeth last October and was very impressed by them. Check out " A Dream That Cannot Be" which has guest vocals by the beautiful and talented Doro Pesch.

I heard of this band way back in 2007. Then when I went to Ozzfest recently they were playing there. The band was still together after a decade and they got rave reviews. So, I bought their new CD. It's great, it's heavy metal with a Viking sound. I would recommend this CD to any heavy metal fan.

Amon Amarth are some 9f the most talented in metal. Subject matter is the same as every other album and the music has taken an even more melodic tone, but still good. One duet with a female singer, but she's not good.

Amon Amarth are the perfect band for days when all you want to do is listen to some quality, melodic, Viking/Victory death metal. They get better with every album.

I am happy my friend picked out this one for us to listen to in the car! I realy liked the stories that were told to some great and heavy music!

The latest masterwork by one of the greatest death metal bands in the world, an album full of brutal songs about heroes and gods. A must-buy for any metalhead!

The Viking metal band from Sweden Jomsviking this is the 10th release currently on Tour in United States, Up the Horns for the Vikings Masters of War!!!!

This may be Amon Amarth's best album to date I have about 2/3's of their discography and I can say every album seems to get better than the last.

Guys this is by far the best cd Ive purchased in a long time and we went and saw them live they played this cd so it was even better

I love Amon Amarth, I hope they release some new material soon but this album was pretty great.

Been listening to amon amarth more lately and this cd is great. If you like metal, this cd is worth it.

A tad different approach to their writing style. A little more rock influence but I'ts not a bad thing
