    I upgraded 4 cell phones at Best Buy as part of Black Friday in July. Best Buy's online experience is coordinated with my Verizon account, so I did not need to work through Verizon. I picked up the phones and activated on my own and all went smoothly. Recommend you search for updated android or apple software after activating your new phone.
