A nice cheap computer that runs Windows instead of Chrome OS. Not worthwhile as a primary laptop and a lot less fun than the Raspberry Pi Kano offering.

I have had this computer since September and I am highly disappointed. I had my Chromebook for 6 years before it started glitching. I wanted a new Chromebook, but in September all of the Best Buys within a 100 mile radius of me were sold out of Chromebooks due to a rapid increase in online learning due to Covid-19. All I really needed in this computer was for it to work well enough to look at emails, watch Netflix, and enjoy an occasional Zoom call. But it fails to perform those functions without causing me aggravation. While the keyboard physically fits with the tablet, sometimes it seems like they are friends fighting and do not want to talk to each other - I'd press a button on the keyboard expecting it to communicate it to the tablet and it'd give me the cold shoulder. Also, there's a letter on the keyboard that only works sometimes. When the computer goes into sleep mode, it does not turn back on by just touching the mouse or power button, it ALWAYS stalls and takes minutes before turning on again. As for Zoom calls, when I attach my web camera sometimes the tablet recognizes that I'm trying to connect a USB, but sometimes it does not. Now, I know that this is a computer that is supposed to teach kids to code, and I can't speak on that. But I figured it should be able to perform regular functions. It's like buying a phone because it has a good camera, but it can't make calls. I'm so frustrated with it. I'm 5 seconds from reaching out to the manufacturer for a new one. But do I really want a new Kano? Probably not. I'm guessing the errors in mine will be prevalent in all of the Kano models. I'll probably just use the computer until I get so frustrated that I throw it at the floor.... and then go buy a Chromebook.
