Great backup camera in a small package.
We needed a new backup camera since we purchased a new KENWOOD stereo head unit. The camera display on the new 10.1” high resolution screen on our new stereo made the oem camera look even more hideous.
This new cmos 230 makes backing up so much easier. The view is much larger, in color and we couldn’t be happier. I still had to fine tune the camera position but you can see the great display.

Great camera especially when paired with a pioneer head unit. It has been on vehicle for 3 years. No condensation, no water damage and has held up to the Florida day to day elements

Kenwood double din stopped working. The old camera cable broke when removing the stereo. Bought this in hopes it would be an improvement. Found the video quality during the day to be markedly worse compared to the $20 amazon crappy camera it was to replace. While testing it i found it put lines across the screen. Decided against permanently installing and instead replaced the rca connection and used the old camera. The quality was incredibly better on the old camera that was still installed. Ended up returning this one.

Very Good Night View Camera

The Kenwood CMOS-230, is a very good backup camera if you have a Kenwood double-din stereo with a DVD, or NAVI display. You can adjust the parking lines, and I live in a dark area, so backing up into the driveway is no problem with no lights for this camera. The Kenwood CMOS-130 doesn’t have night view, but according to Kenwood’s website the CMOS-230 dose, and I can tell you there absolutely correct. I have standard reverse light bulbs in my 2010 Corolla, no need for led lights because backing up with this camera at night makes you see clearly in color display. The BestBuy Geek Squad did a fast, quick, and excellent installation job when they installed this camera. It took one young man one hour to install this camera tops. I picked up this camera for $50.00 off, so it was well worth the combined price $99.00 with the install $129.99. Yes; I recommend this camera, if you have a compatible Kenwood double-din receiver. It will make for an excellent needed upgrade. I, have driven, and backed up 18 wheelers for many, many years in NYC, that doesn’t mean you don’t need a backup camera for a small car; for example: In a Walmart Shopping Center, now that I live in Virginia.

Camera was easy to install. Integrated fine with my stereo, which was a Kenwood unit. Video is good quality. Has the backup lines. Good value as I got mine on sale.

The camera was easy to install on my truck. I had plenty of wire to go from the rear bumper to the cab. I used the sticky tape and a single screw which is solid. It intergrates well with my Kenwood head unit. I purchased a second for my front bumper. Just keep in mind for forward facing applications the image will be reversed.

Good this for a 2003 Toyota we were gifting to our grandson since he had learned to drive in a more modern vehicle. The camera provides an excellent view day or night. The only thing missing are the grid lines but since this is an older vehicle it will have to do.

This Camera is very clear and has easy to understand DIY instructions for installation. Don’t be deceived by the 128 degree horizontal field of view or the 103 degree vertical field of view. You have plenty of vision with this Camera in Daytime or at Night and it lives up to the Kenwood name.

I am pleased with the backup camera, however, it doesn't show lines on the screen to show where the vehicle is as you would get on a factory unit. I was surprised how clear the backup camera is even in the dark.

It's okay. It's just okay for the upcharge, it doesn't provide the clarity that was touted and I'm disappointed by the lack of guidelines.

Very good camera for the price. Easy to install. Probably took me 45 minutes. Only thing I did do was I used a different mounting screw. No offense to Kenwood but I just didn't have much faith in the tiny little thing that comes with the package.

The installer hooked this up to my Kenwood deck. The installation was free because I have Total Tech Support. The tech was knowledgeable about the product and offered me different options for camera function. I had mine hooked up independently from the reverse light circuit. I have to punch a button to turn on the camera, but that also allows me to use the camera while I am towing something, st I can check the stability of the hitch while in tow.
My only issue with the camera is the glare in strong light conditions. The picture is very washed out without enough contrast for effortless monitoring.

VERY clear. Sometimes too clear - especially in very bright situations. It's hard to see the picture.
