worst fridge ever

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this refrigerator less than 2 years ago. Noticed rust spots within 7 months. I've only ever cleaned with KitchenAid recommended cleaner. I purchased the Geek Squad warranty - it was very easy to get someone to come over and check out the damage; however I was told the additional warranty does not cover rust. Now I have a $4k fridge with rust spots, which is a great compliment to a $60k kitchen remodel. Would have expected better from Kitchen Aid and Best Buy. Otherwise, works fine.

Stopped working in less than 2 years

But now it stopped cooling. Fridge is under warranty but I have to go through Best Buy’s appointed third party technician which has been awful to deal with and has Yelp reviews describing them as “absolutely horrible”, “bad experience”, “LIARS”, and worse. Looks like my timeline will be ~2 months without a fridge in the middle of summer. If I find my own technician it will void the warranty. I just want a fridge that works. Stay far away from this one.

Supply chain problems kept us from ordering this for months but it was worth the wait. The quality of the components makes the higher price worth it. Note to anyone buying this - it takes about 24 hours for the fridge and freezer to fully get to the temperature (including making ice).
