The top tray is very convenient for washing silverware.

I love this dishwasher, the utensil rack is fantastic!

After trying to get it to wash my dishes - had to get the installer back only to realize that motor Pump was defective.

Although energy efficiency was important, my four top priorities in replacing my dishwasher were capacity, noise level, and thoroughly clean/dry dishes. This dishwasher exceeds all of those expectations. Price, delivery and installation were without surprises. After three months of using it, I highly recommend this dishwasher.

So far this has been a great dishwasher. I was replacing my kitchen floor and came upon a leak in my old dishwasher (16 years old) and nearly had my kitchen floor ruined all the way through. It was a good thing that I had it done when I did. I digress. I bought this as a replacement in a hurry, and it came on time and within the time that the delivery call said it would. It's beautiful, quiet, runs smoothly and cleans my dishes. Right now, it's just me and my cats' dishes, my husband is taking care of his mother so I haven't give it much use. The top shelf is interesting and you can't put a lot there, but it's nice to get them out of the way. It does cut down on the room on the second level, but just put taller items on the sides or on the first rack.

It is a shame that Kitchen Aid sells such a crappy product. Arrived bent because of the cheap materials. Returned it and got a Bosch that is fantastic. When in doubt, go with the Bosch

Ordered this dishwasher as the next step up from what we had originally. Love the features on this model, works great and super quiet which we love. Installation was a breeze as well. Third level rack is a bit shallow but I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

This is a bad unit it failed after just a few months and it appears there is no warranty. I am upset.

Love the metal design the handles are heavy and well made. It's the Lexus of ovens . Feels like an industrial piece. Looks great on a modern designed kitchen that have an industrial flair. Steel Blue background and light grays, or cool crisp white would look best against this piece.

We bought it a year and a half ago. It cleaned very, very well and was very quiet. And then it broke. The cost of repairs would be hundreds of dollars so we are going to purchase a new dishwasher instead - will not buy a KitchenAid dishwasher again. Our GE lasted for over 10 years with no issues.

This dishwasher works great . It's so much quieter than our last dishwasher ! Haven't had any problems yet.

This dishwasher is extremely quiet and cleans great. Everything you would need out of a dishwasher.

This DW is awesome! I ran it with a light load just to see the noise level and actually had to get right up to it to make sure it was running. Then, after actually filling it up with dirty dishes(one that sat for a couple of weeks) ran it again and I was really happy to see that even the dirtiest of them were spotless. Two not so greats...you have to put the top rack into it's highest position to be able to fit regular plates in the bottom rack and this causes you to not be able to put tall glasses in the top rack because of the "3rd" rack . Maybe some rearranging will help but we haven't found a way. The other thing, if you have granite, it's tricky to get the side screws in to hold the DW in place. But now that it's done. LOVE it!

We have had to replace the plastic wheels on the bottom rack 4 times and at $55 a set of wheels x 4 - you could pay for a half of a new dishwasher. Very disappointed in the cheapness of the Kitchen Aid dishwasher. I used to think they were quality but no longer

MODEL KDTE204E: I bought this specific model expressly for the third level rack. You may ask yourself "how can anything get clean AND dry on this very thin top shelf way at the top of the dishwasher?" The answer is very simple - IT DOESN'T! I put my flatware on it - I use Cascade Platinum tablets, Cascade Rinse Agent and the heat dry option. (My unit was professionally installed.) I turned the dishwasher on at around 8 pm - the next morning the third rack and everything on it was wet and dirty. Even stainless steel will rust if left soaking in water. My steak knives which are stainless steel from the blade all the way to the handle were rusted and ruined. The other flatware was stained with water marks - I had to use a special cleaner on all of it to get them clean. The other poor design for me on this model is the silverware basket - it is one big unnecessarily HUGE unit that takes up the entire right side of the dishwasher - you cannot separate the compartments or place it anywhere else. The basket itself is way too high. When I put the flatware pieces through the slots they do not hit bottom so just wobble around. So I have to remove the tops and put everything into the baskets clanking around. It also is all wet when I open the dishwasher in the morning. For me this is a lot of wasted space. The top rack on this model has NO options to reconfigure the tines. The sides have a very quirky configuration - I cannot find anything that fits into the oddly shaped angular space so for me it is wasted. The one cup shelf with stemware holder is not secure, impractical and poorly designed in a way that it is hardly functional. It is seated too high on the rack to accommodate a cup of ANY size! Again - for me just wasted space. The bottom rack on this model has just ONE fold-down tine across the back of the unit. I had a horrible time trying to arrange my dishes and pots. I cannot get my coffee pot in there to sit at a slight angle. Also the way the tines are designed, they do not hold the dishes securely. Somehow the dishes are seated very shallow and maybe the tines are a bit too short. Any little movement like sliding the rack into the dishwasher, and the dishes shift one way or another. The bottom rack slides off the track WAY, WAY too easy! The general appearance of this model is quite underwhelming, at least the white model which I chose. The handle which is some sort of brushed meta/chrome finish shows every little fingerprint and requires constant wiping. With the exception of the one fold-down tine on the bottom rack - everything on this model is in a fixed position. It does an O.K. job - nothing over the moon that any other dishwasher in this decibel and price range won't do as well with a premium detergent and rinse agent, but with MANY more options and much more functional.

This dishwasher worked perfectly for 1.5 years and then motor ceiling broke. We did not have an extended warranty so we had to buy a brand new washer after only 1.5 years.
