  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: false (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Heated drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: Does the depth dimension of 24.75 inches include a 3/4 inch (recommended depth) custom panel or will the final depth with a 3/4 inch custom panel front installed be 25.5 inches?

A: I read online that to have a true "flush mounted panel ready dishwasher" only European brands are the correct depth. A common depth is 22 7/8". If the appliance is 24" deep (the same depth as most counter tops) and then you add a wood panel, the appliance will not sit flush with cabinets. I would love to know what KitchenAid has to say about this question. I have called their customer support and they were not able to give me any helpful information. Why would they make the dishwasher 24" deep and then think it will lie properly on the cabinets? This is truly a different look than the traditional dishwasher, which sticks out several inches from the cabinets. The reason we are paying a premium for this is to have it BLEND IN with the cabinets.

Q: What washing settings does this have? Example: Heavy, Normal, quick?

A: Pro-wash, tough, normal, light, express wash & rinse only

Q: Can you use your own handle that matches your cabinetry?

A: This model does not come with panel/Handle. You need to attached your own panel with handle which matches your cabinetry.

Q: Does this one work with the custom panel from big chill?

A: Yes, it does! I got a Big Chill panel and it looks great!

Q: Specs say it is 34.5 inches tall, but say it fits in a 34 inch opening. What are the minimum and maximum heights. My opening is 33.75 inches?

A: I believe the footplate and height can be adjusted slightly. I did not watch the full install, but I know he did not need the piece of wood that was needed to secure the old dishwasher because this one was taller and fit the opening better. That 1/4 inch might be too much of a difference to squeeze it in. It's a solid product that seems like it will last a lot longer than my last one, but I would have BestBuy check with the installers to see if your measurements will work. My opening is slightly bigger and my quick tape measurement tells me your spot might be too short. Hope this helps!

Q: does the unit heat the water it uses

A: Yes, the unit will heat the water it uses.

Q: Does this have a heated drying cycle?

A: yes plus can run w/o the heat.
