    We purchased this as an open box with the description that it was a display and scratches on the door, no indication of any defects. We installed the oven and used it for the first time on thanksgiving and it didn’t work! The oven never preheated and ruined our Thanksgiving since we were suppose to host both sides of our family

    Cool looks, can't cook through a simple dinner

    I have had this unit installed and active for 4 months and I have had two service calls and cannot make it through a meal still without it turning off, resetting, and us having to delay dinner (or plan for double the time). Thus far I love the looks of it, but I would have rather gotten a picture of this unit to place on-top of a different one that actually works.

    Manufacturing defects- steer clear

    We purchased this with an unknown-to-us defect. The face of the microwave is not flat and the door does not always close properly. To get the microwave to run, we would need to push slightly on the door, or open and close it again. It seems that over time, this caused the door switch to fail. We had the KitchenAid AIG warranty but the repair person was told by KitchenAid it was not repairable due to the defective face plate. We received a partial reimbursement and are out over $1000.

    Will cost big bucks for microwave bulb replacement

    Buy this combo if you want to pay hundreds of dollars to change light bulb in microwave. Kitchen aid does not want users to have the repair manual and directs you to local dealers or service persons for changing a bulb. After some research I found that the whole unit has to be pulled out of the cabinet to get access to the bulb which is at the top and in the middle of the microwave. Doable but you need lots of muscle. Pathetic design.

    This over is terrible. It takes FOREVER to preheat and everything takes longer to cook in it.

    DON'T COUNT ON REPLACEMENT PARTS

    the door hinges went out 6 month after purchase. Replaced them numerous times since. Now they quit making the part. If we want to keep the door shut (oven light off) we will have to replace the entire unit. If we do, it won't be Kitchenaid

    Is this oven/microwave a lemon?

    So far it’s been poor the microwave went out within a month I called kitchenaid they sent an appliance repair tech who fixed it & it went out again within two days I am now waiting for them to come back out next week to repair again of if goes out a 3rd time I want a refund

    DO NOT BUY! This item has been discontinued. My 3 year old one had shards of blue interior enamel coming off as I wipe interior! Do a search and see for yourself!

    Brand New Oven - Lower Convection Not Working

    Just received my brand new KOCE500ESS01 Micro/Convection Double Oven and lower convection oven fan is not working. Fan never comes on during convection backing, roasting or broiling. Oven itself is beautiful, but very disappointed in initial quality. Scheduled a Service Appointment for 1/4/16 - will update after complete with resolution

    Magnetron failed twice in three years.

    Purchased Oct 2019. Magnetron and inverter failed and replaced Jan 2021, just out of warrantee. Magnetron and inverter failed again and replaced December 2022, again out of warrantee, replacement cost $870. As this is a built-in microwave, only choice is repair or replace whole unit. In future will purchase separate oven and microwave.
