Purchased this to start grinding meat. It works great- I'm never buying ground beef from the store ever again. If you know that you will be grinding a lot of meat though, I would probably spring for the metal one. It's quite a bit more money, but it would probably be worth it in the long run.

The quality of the mixer is excellent. We bought one for Christmas and have loved it. We just bought some accessories for it and can't wait to use them.
