Q: What material is the attachment made of?
A: Hi Debra, The body of the food grinder attachment is aluminum and not dishwasher safe. The blades and other parts are stainless steel and able to be placed in the dishwasher.
Q: Is the internal screw drive food mover plastic or metal? Thanks
A: Every part is metal not plastic
Q: I have a 28 year old KitchenAid mixer. Will this attachment fit/work?
A: Hi Tuco, All of the attachments that use the front hub of the mixers are universal on all models no matter how old the units are.
Q: Will it grind a chuck roast into the correct consistency for ground chuck hamburgers?
A: Yes, we ground brisket for burgers. Worked great
A: Cut chicken breast into pieces then start grinding. This is stronger than the plastic one. Cheaper is not better in this case. Happy grinding!!!
Q: Is there any way to sharpen the blades when they get dull?
A: There is not a way to sharpen the blades.
Q: Can this grind nuts? Does it fits all kitchen aid mixer?
A: Hi Fay, The Food Grinder Attachment is not recommended for grinding nuts and the attachment is universal on all KitchenAid Stand Mixers.
Q: Can I grind chicken drumsticks with the bones for my dogs raw diet?
A: No it would possibly jam the grinder in addition to the strain on the mixer motor
