Because it’s a plastic housing take your time when grinding and there should be no problems. Ground several cuts of meat, no issues, worked as advertised.

For some incomprehensible reason they tell you NOT to put most of its parts through a dish washer, which makes no sense. . . .

Spend the extra few bucks and get one that won't flex under the pressure and cause warping and gross black bits in your grind.

You can get skins and seasonings at Bass Pro Shop. Turned out well.

The only issue have is the medium grind plate is too fine and the coarse plate is too thick. My old plastic grinder had a medium plate that was just right and identical to store ground. I wish there was a grind plate available that I could buy that matched the old KitchenAid plate. Otherwise this is a fine product that I would buy again.
