    Grossly inferior product

    We've had this less than three years, used it moderately. Two months ago we had to replace the entire pump and motor, today the upper rack assembly connecting the rack to the slide rails broke off, they are made of plastic. I'm willing to pay for quality. This unit has been a major disappointment.

    Unhappy product came defective

    Door out of alignment and would not close after installed by installation crew. Ordered another same product same problem installation guys didn’t even install saw same problem out of box. Would not recommend this dishwasher because of this problem. Seems like it comes from factory defective. Still wait for dishwasher after 3weeks Ordered a different brand. To me this brand not very good But I really don’t know how it works because couldn’t get it installed. Big thumbs down

    Purchased new in March 2016, died in June 2017, out of warranty. Pump failure; not covered. I do NOT recommend this product. Cleaned OK during its time.

    We have owned this dishwasher (KDTM354D) for less than four years. Last year, it stopped cleaning the dishes, and we discovered that the pump was leaking and had damaged our kitchen floor. It took approximately two weeks to have that part replaced, and our floors were not repaired. Just recently, the control board shorted out. To make matters worse, the replacement control board part is out of stock from the manufacturer (Whirlpool), and I was told it could be more than two months before the part ships. I’m not a happy customer, and I would not recommend this product. From the reviewsI read, it seems that we aren’t the only ones that have experienced these particular issues with this unit.

    Terrible product. Poor quality - breaks often

    We purchased this dishwasher in 2017. It worked for about a year and a half and we started noticing that the wash quality started deteriorating. We called a Kitchenaid technician in and he replaced a pump and a couple of parts.. nothing no use. The problems persisted. The technician came back and said we needed to use the pre-heat option and a long cycle for the dishwasher to clean well. Apparently these dishwashers use less water so we needed to run them longer.. kind of defeats the purpose. About 2 weeks ago the dishwasher stopped draining water even though the cycle completed. We had to explicitly hit cancel for it to drain. Today the dishwasher seems to have given up. It smells like burnt plastic and the thing won't drain or start, For the amount of money this horrible equipment costs the quality is disappointing. I will never buy a Kitchenaid or a Whirlpool again. They seem to have slipped up on making quality products.

    Leaking after 2.5 years of use

    This unit already has 2 issues in the last 2.5 years. Most recently it started leaking under the unit towards center, which called for a costly repair. KitchenAid service center wasn't any help. I wouldn't recommend this product.

    Short Lived

    This dishwasher was very efficient while it lasted. After 4 Years and 1 Month the motor and circuit board needed replacing. This resulted in parts and labor of $700 forcing us to look for a new dishwasher.

    Kitchenaid Dishwasher

    The Kitchenaid Dishwasher runs quietly, cleans the dishes, but it does not dry them. After 8 hours of drying time there are still pools of water setting on pots and pans, silverware, flat surfaces. My old dish washer was noisy but at least it dried the dishes. The Kitchenaid does not.

    Worst unit ever failed on 5 times already once flooded my kitchen so my hardwood floor needs to be replaced. Geeksquad is giving me the runaround to give me a no-lemon replacement.

    Don't Buy Kitchen Aid

    I've had my Kitchen Aid dishwasher for less than 5 years and it has been a waste of money. I had the installation done from Best Buy and would not do this again. Best Buy uses a third party to install their appliances which allows both of them to point at the other if it wasn't done properly. On top of that they both then point at the manufacturer if something isn't right. Never again. And then there's the dishwasher and after having the installers come out multiple times and twice having someone say it wasn't installed correctly because it didn't drain. The top arm rack broke and needed to be replaced. The wheels on the bottom rack popped off and need to be replaced for a 2nd time. And today the handle on the dishwasher snapped off.

    Faulty Unit

    Faulty Dishwasher. Got it installed 2 days ago. The dishwasher starts on its own, random cycle, keeps on beeping, steam comes out. Called Geek Squad 3 times. Took me 20 min everytime. Kept on transferring me from one department to the other. Someone is supposed to show up today. In the meantime I cannot use the dishwasher that I paid a lot of money for.

    Does not clean the dishes well on any cycle

    Just purchased May, 2018, and tried the prowash cycle, dishes and glasses were dirty, tonight tried the tough cycle wash, dishes were dirty??. I am upset because this is not KitchenAid quality. I just replaced this from a 12 year old Kitchenaid that was super. This is going back, failure to launch! Dont buy it does not clean the dishes!

    Terrible Dishwasher

    We bought this top of the line KitchenAid dishwasher 1.5 years ago. We only use it on the weekends for 2 people. The motor recently froze which prompted a service call. Five weeks and they still have not fixed the problem. Parts of backorder, incompetant repair people, and a general lack of caring by KitchenAid. We have also had our high end refrigerator break down without being able to be repaired and another dishwasher with two motor repairs. Cheap products and poor quality all around. Would not recommend KitchenAid ever!!!

    Look at all the bad reviews about FLOODING

    Hi, my review is a 1-star, because like many of the other 1-star reviews, we have significant flooding under our dishwasher. Chances are we're going to have to replace some parts that will end up costing at least half of what it takes to buy a new one. And what about the floor? Consider that added expense when purchasing one of these washers. We also bought the 3-year plan, but this is 3.5 years later. Ugh.

    "Professional" installation

    If you have your dishwasher litlle but farther than regular and hose is one inch shorter professional instaler will not connect it, because they do not have any extension. So I went to the store and try to buy some extension and nobody has a regular one..so I combined some pieces. Should not the installers have something to finish the job they were suppose to do?

    Electronic Panel dead in less than a year

    The dishwasher is less than 2 years old and we have replaced the electronic panel two times. The lights go dim and stop working after a while. BB solution replace the electronics.

    Broken twice in 7 months

    I was pleased with the aesthetics of the unit, but mine has now had the control panel fail twice in 7-months. I had MUCH higher expectations for a KitchenAid product. Would not purchase this unit again.
