Less than average
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s an “ok” sub if you have no sub at all, but for the price there are way better performing subs out there!

Need the right room acoustics for this one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This subwoofer had too much power for my home theater room. If you have the right space this could be a gem.

Incredible Fantastic Omega level
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own Klipsch towers KF-28. 6 of them. ( Yes I am upgrading to the R-28F soon) .I've stayed with Klipsch for about 8+ years now. I finally decided to upgrade my subwoofer now. the old one I had was pretty much overpowered by the Klipsch towers because those are bassy enough. BUT wow I bought a R-12SW & WOW it shakes the room! If before it was better than a movie theater, NOW its like being inside the movie itself. & gaming? better than ever. Barry Burton's handgun. BOOOOM!! like heaven in my ears. Klipsch is my favorite brand because of its top notch sound & Best Buy has good sales on them & good open box prices. 3 rooms in my home are all Klipsch. I wouldnt have it any other way

High Quality Bass
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The R-12SW is a very well rounded subwoofer. Paired with a nice receiver and other Klipsch Reference speakers, this SW will meet and most likely exceed your expectations of sound quality and loudness. The adjustable gain and lowpass filter on the rear of the enclosure are easy to access and have a nice high quality feel. The one thing I think could be improved on the sub is the low end frequency response. It extends to 29Hz while human hearing can technically reach 20Hz. This is not a huge deal, but if you are looking for the "perfect" audio experience and have more money to spend, you may want to look at a different sub from the Magnolia Hifi store. However, I would consider myself an audiophile and this sub certainly gets the job done and does it well. The build quality is superb and delivers clean, powerful sound when tuned and placed correctly.

Not what I thought
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased two of them for my theater room and was very disappointed that they were not able to pressurize the room. They are Madewell and maybe better in a smaller application

Looks Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although this item looks fantastic, I was only able to entertain with it 6 times since I purchased it. It has completely went out on me. As a consumer I am very disappointed. I will contact the manufactor as well.

Incredible sub for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went back and forth on what to do regarding a subwoofer. I had just added two in-ceiling front hight speakers to go to 7.1.2 system in my bonus room to scratch my itch for Dolby Atmos. But like any good case of poison ivy, scratching only made me more itchy. Atmos is AMAZING!!! After trying 7.1.2 I just had to upgrade to 7.2.4 for the full Atmos immersive effect! After some serendipitous gifts and flattery toward the wife, she green-lighted me to buy an external amp to power 2 additional Atmos in-ceiling height speakers. After the installation, however, my sound still was missing something. It lacked the warmth, depth, and fullness I was looking for. I was running only 1 Polk 12” sub at that point and the low-end was definitely the weak point. I kicked around the idea of spending more on the SVS ultra to replace the Polk, but when the Klipsch subs went on sale recently I thought I’d buy the r-10sw to run in parallel with my Polk instead. I liked the r-10sw, but at 32hz low-end it just didn’t dig deep enough on its own, or even while running alongside the Polk sub. So back to the drawing board I went... All other speakers in my system are Klipsch Reference Premier, so I wanted to buy Klipsch subs if I could. I know brand matching on a sub doesn’t matter sound-wise, but it’s cool nonetheless. So ultimately I decided to retire the Polk 12” sub and I bought the Klipsch R-12sw to run along with the R-10sw. The result was fantastic. I now get the low end frequency (I tested it down to 23hz without significant roll-off) and more than enough power. You can hear and feel the difference. Running these two subs I have plenty of headroom on the low end. Because I don’t need to drive them hard, they sound clean, tight, and accurate... as well as monstrously powerful when called on to be so. I am giving this 4 stars because if ran single, while still good, the R-12sw calls attention to itself in the room. However, when run in tandem with another decent sub, the result is every bit as good as running a single higher-end SVS Ultra. My advice is to buy the R-12SW... but if you’re picky about your audio experience like I am, buy two of them if you can. Any decent AVR has two sub pre-outs, and two of these (on sale) will give you a high-end experience for middle of the road money. But by all means, know that the subwoofer(s) is not the place to shave cost on your home theater system. Without some muscle and finesse in the low-end, you’ll always have a nagging sensation that something is missing. The result of running two R-12sw subs will leave you with a smile on your face and will leave your guests preferring your home over your local cineplex. At the sale price of $299 each, its worth the money all day long—100%.

Sounds Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this sub to fill out a surround system with undersized towers. I didn't want to like this sub as much as I did. It sounds great with TV, movies, and music. Great response, tight bass and sounds better than its spec's lead on.

outstanding subwoofer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i bought the full set of klipsch reference speakers on 8-2-14. now i wasnt really sure how i was going to feel about this sub cause you cant really hear it well in the store. theres too much room and the shelves rattle like crazy there. out of the whole set of speakers i am most impressed with this 12in subwoofer. quick background, i have 2- 12in icon subs in my avalanche and i have 1100 watts pushing them and to me its not nearly loud enough. so i like my bass. and no joke i had the volume turned up only around half way and i could hear this sub outside my home. i think it mayne perfect for the whole surround system. it maybe even over power the other speakers justa bit. i havent really pushed it to the limit yet but its only been 2 weeks. i do highly re omend this sub if youre a bass lover like me you will not be dissapointed

BUTT-KICKER!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BUTT-KICKER! At this price? LOOK OUT! I own the original BIC F-12 450 watt version of this unit. Both models originally designed by subwoofer master designer Hsu. The BIC F-12 for $199 is Straight-Up electrifying & this Klipsch sub should be too, as the design is the same, only the name's have been changed to protect the innocent. LoL! BUY THIS SUBWOOFER WHILE IT'S STILL $2OO. IT'S A TRUE SUBWOOFER. BEST BUY ROCKS! ~ Peace
