Not bad for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i bought this sub to compliment my def tech 7002's with built in 12 inch subs. Yes, I like bass lol. It has pretty good output but not as accurate as the super cube technology of def tech. It has similar output to my old Cerwin vega LW-12, maybe I little more punch. If you are looking for volume this sub is a good option especially for 400 dollars. If you are looking for tight accurate bass, it may not be your best option, but at only 400 dollars it is not a bad sub at all. My room is roughly 15 x 24 and it has no problem with volume.

Excellent Sub
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased two 12" Klispch subs and my 7.2 system sounds amazing! Reading the previous reviews, people have said that the sub makes the walls shake and they are not kidding. I purchased two because the sub was on sale and I ususally dont see Klispch's products on sale. Having two subs is overkill BUT you might as well go hard or go home! lol BUY THE SUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of punch but missing BB advertised feature.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced a dying 12" powered subwoofer that was outputting random static at times. I started out with the power at 50% and the Klipsch really rocked the room. However --and this isn't really a failure of the speaker but BB is advertising it has a feature my old sub had and this one does not. So it was a bit disappointing when I opened it up. The following is not true: "L/R line-level RCA jacks and L/R binding posts. Make it easy to connect your speakers and receiver." This sub only has line level RCA input. There is no speaker pass through or high-level input. This would have been easy to spot but for some reason the product pictures displayed on the website only show the front view. Most of them you can view the backside to confirm the setup...

Will rattle your house
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as well as the 8" towers.. ABSOLUTELY a great sound from ALL .The first movie we watched had a fight scene and a glass lamp was hit with a cane and we all ducked.. sounded like the windows in the house shattered... I would definitely recommend.

Added second sub
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time ever giving a review for anything, but Klipsch deserves it. I upgraded my 1990's 5.1 theater system after lighting took 2 led tv's, receiver, 3 cable boxes and a wiiu. I kept the speakers, but had to upgrade to a powered sub, due to the new Onkyo receiver. Opted for the R-12sw. It supplied the bass, but it was way over powering the dated front and surround channels. Black friday at bestbuy.com cured that. Added Kipsch 8" floor, 4- 5 1/4" bookshelves for the rear and surround channels, along with a Klipsch center channel speaker. Did the AccuEQ calibration and, BOY, did it wake the termites up in the wall. Just added a second R-12sw sub tonite, to the system for the 7.2 effect. Turned the subs crossover down to 40 from 80hz and turned the levels up. Pure bliss. Thank goodness for country living w/o neighbors. No need to have a defibrillator in house either. Have the glassman on speed dial for window glass repairs. Will be adding the Klipsch's Atmos add-on's to fill the empty channels on the receiver pronto.

Really Good!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kicked around the 10 vs 12 for weeks, but after hearing them side by side my mind was made up and started saving up for the 12. During Christmas week my local store put it on sale for just a few bucks more than the 10. Couldn't make it in but Jonathan at my local store did me a solid and honored the sale price on Monday after. This sub is hard to beat at any price. I have a pretty big family room that is filled thx to my Denon AVR-S710W - Klipsch all around and the sub being the final piece. If you live anywhere other than on a farm, this sub can get you arrested if you unleash it. Very happy!!

Great subwoofer for the money!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't say enough about this subwoofer. It really has broadened the depth of my soundstage with music and movies. It's not boomy or muddy. It is tight, deep and I feel the kick on my couch! When calibrated and positioned correctly this thing does wonders. Calibrations include the configuration of your receiver and other channels. I have a Yamaha 2050 with a 9.1 arrangement. The sub pairs well with my B&W 683 s2s. I have to admit, after getting this one, I need another to complete a 9.2 setup. I am very happy with my purchase.

Best Speakers made that don't cost 10K
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this sub for over 2 years now and its still going strong, like its brand new. I've had a lot of subwoofers in my life and none compare to this one. This thing is powerful and hits those low notes you never knew existed. Its extremely well made, high quality grill, easy to wire, and adjust to your bass needs. I only have Klipsch speakers now and the differences are very clear...

Great!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Maybe I have it hooked up wrong, but it cuts out on me. Sounds great when it works. I have it hooked up to an Onkyo tuner along with two Klipsch r28 speakers. I use a Rocketfish cable to attach it to the tuner. I just don't know.

When shaking half the house isn't enough.....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Outstanding subwoofer. From the moment I plugged it in and turned on my stereo, I knew that I had made the right choice. The Klipsch R-12SW easily blows away my old Polk 100w sub. Clean, powerful bass. I am happy. Very happy.

Not what I was expecting from Klipsch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is no doubt a high quality made in China subwoofer but it is not worth the price tag IMO. I bought this and the Klipsch SW112 and compared the two in the same room in the same spot. This sub compared to the SW112 has much more boom and distortion even at very low gain. The port noise on this sub is awful for the price point and the specs they are touting. Port noise is very noticeable from 15-40Hz. The SW112 had absolutely no port noise. From what I have read the R112SW and R115SW will out perform this any day but they are much more money heck the R110SW might be better too. Like I said before the other sub I compare this against is the SW112 which is the older (2010) version of the newer R112SW (2014). I picked up the SW112 new for under $200 shipped from another online retailer. Basically you really have to buy and try the sub in your room to fully understand how it sounds. Hope this review helps you.

Great Sub
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been very pleased with this sub. It shakes the house when you crank it. Movies come to life, and you can really feel music. Buy a quality shielded sub cable for best results.

Great deep sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My dad hipped me to the klipsch brand, and loved the way his sounded, and I couldn't resist the sale price I got this speaker at. I have a Sony receiver pushing out the watts to this puppy. I will eventually get the center, floor, and book shelf speakers. Using my Lg sound system with it right now, and it sounds good together for now until I get the full klipsch speaker set lol.

Good volume, but thumpy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Black Friday sale of these subwoofers spurred me to complete my Dolby Atmos 5.x.2 setup with KEF 301's for the left, right, and center and KEF Ci200Q's built in for overhead and rear surrounds. The KEF's are very clean, but I had doubts that their recommended T-2 subwoofer would have enough volume. (Found out that my local Magnolia store will be selling KEF in 2017.) Spurred on by the sale price of $225, I purchased my first subwoofer. Once hooked up in the center of my room (due to the couch layout), I found this subwoofer did a good job filling up a large 20'x35' room with sound. I found I had to turn up the subwoofer to about 75% to get a good amount of bass for this room. Unfortunately any setting above 50% caused heavy reverberations in the speaker and the cabinet. I don't have meters or the background to identify the culprit frequencies that cause the thumpy / boomy sounds, but I would guess around 30-40 Hz. The bass guitars in songs caused the speaker to no longer offer clean bass. After reading subwoofer reviews online by Sound & Vision, I realized I was looking for cleaner bass, which is typically delivered with a sealed subwoofer. I even tried "sealing" this subwoofer with a pillow, and that did help in removing the reverberations. I was also noticing a a "bass hole" between my KEF 301's ~138Hz -3dB lower frequency and the Klipsch R-12SW's 120Hz -3dB upper frequency. (Please keep in mind that -3dB means half the nominal volume at the speaker's other frequencies. -10dB means 1/10th the nominal volume.) So for the "small" satellite speakers I already installed, I also realized I needed to find a sub that get up to at least 150Hz or so. I tried an SVS SB-2000 from my local Magnolia store, but the SVS even with its higher power rating had less volume than the Klipsch. Also tried the small KEF T-2, which was clean but had quite low volume.
