Not a cheesy remake. Lots of bass thumping action.

Must see, would def watch it again and again!!!!!!

John C Reiley steals the show. And of course kong.

Despite having a good cast of actors, I wasn't all that impressed. The storyline itself felt weak and it seemed the most recent Godzilla movie outshined this. Maybe I am spoiled on the Godzilla movie, but at least the special effects were really good!

Story line was not very good. The last King King had a better "King Kong". They had the right people to add comedy, but I don't think I would be able to put up with the bad story line to watch it again. Hopefully the follow-up movie will be better.

If you want Kong smashing things and fighting monsters, you get that, and it’s awesome. If you have a problem with continuity gaps, they’re prevelant too. Aside from Kong, John C Reilly is easily the highlight of this movie. 4k looks great too

If you're expecting Pacific Rim monster fest DON'T. They only battle for like 10 minutes tops. Too much time was wasted on the humans instead of Kong. It has some adventure elements but even then there is a lot of pointless blahablahblah.

I bought the movie because my favorite actor (Samuel L. Jackson) is in it. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed & glad I didn't waste money on a movie experience. This movie never captured my interest and the story line didn't really flow together.

I got this movie on Black Friday, so I got a great deal. It came with the blueray, dvd, and digital copy. The movie itself was alright, but I watched it on a 32 inch TV without surround sound. So i didn’t get the full experience.

Love this kind of adventure movie usually, but this particular one was not as good as I had expected. The special effects, were, however, great!! Story was not real believable. I've certainly seen worse, but have also seen much better.

Good CGI effects. You can actually feel empathy for Kong. Adequate action and some humor. Samuel L. Jackson's character a little over the top. An OK Friday or Saturday night popcorn movie date flick, although it won't win any awards.

Not as good as the Peter Jackson (pre-quel) but good enough to fit in the new Majestic Universe, Godzilla was slightly better probably because of Bryan Cranston. I'll watch this again but the writing and action could of been better.

I enjoyed the action and the huge Kong but I was irritated by the plot. The so called military officer was nuts and his risking the rest of his men's lives for one man who he had no clue whether he was alive or not was stupid.

Good action scenes but a lot of dumb Hollywood cliches too. Samuel L. Jackson and that anti-war female reporter are useless characters who should have had all their scenes (and their paychecks) cut prior to release.

This is a new take on King Kong. It's not particularly imaginative or in any way an improvement over previous versions. Although I haven't watched it in a while, my favorite is the original version of King Kong.

A big cast and big special effects dominate this movie. Although the body count was larger than I liked, I still enjoyed the experience. Definitely worth the cost of the DVD... but glad I didn't spend theater money.

While the movie itself didn't quite live up to the pre-release hype, the blu-ray does manage to recreate the theater experience pretty well. Good transfer, excellent sound, and a fair smattering of special features.

5 year old grandson was picking out movies for Christmas break. We have to go to 5 different places in the store to see all the movies so he could choose. Xmas in 2 different place, normal place and 2 end caps.

I had no issues with the DVD, but did not view the Blu-ray as yet. I felt the story was rushed, incomplete, or underdeveloped. It seemed the creators of this movie were setting up more plot, but did not seem to flesh out those areas. Kong himself, did not feel like the main character in the movie, and appeared to do something contrary to his initial appearance, later in the film. More character development was needed in my opinion. Overall a decent movie, but could have been better. I will not explain more than that, so that this review is spoiler free. I believe this movie is best purchased on sale.
