I went into this movie not expecting very much. In fact I figured it would just be a campy cash in designed to Target people's nostalgic value. However this is an incredible adventure story and highly entertaining to boot. If you have not seen this movie yet I would implore that you do so.

I read reviews of Kong: Skull Island before purchasing the 4K/Blu 3D/Blu Steelbook. Reviews gave the 3D on this disc five out of five stars. I had never seen a rating for a disc's 3D that high --- but it is good. The reviews didn't lie. It looked great with a lot of depth throughout the movie.

If you have a day where you just don't know what to do, pull out "Kong: Skull Island" and sit back and just enjoy it. There are no plots within plots to keep you guessing what this movie is about and there are no twists and turns that catch you off guard. There's just a lot of action. The movie is filled with a lot of action and monsters fighting monsters, but that's the show right there. I actually prefer the original "King Kong" (2005) over this one because there was more of a story line and more "mystery". In "Kong", once you hit the island the action breaks loose - which is great for those who like a lot of action. Nothing wrong with that! In terms of the 4k presentation, it looks good. I don't recall a lot of HDR visuals, but maybe that is because of the nature of the movie (for example, "The Revenant" really showed off HDR visuals). This movie won't disappoint you, but it's not a movie I would pay $30 for. Get it on sale and enjoy!

I really enjoyed this latest entry in the Kong film franchise. It's more of an update than a straight remake of the original. The special effects are great and the story moves at a quick pace. If you've only seen the trailer, don't worry-there are still plenty of surprises left in this movie!

Saw this movie in the theater and liked it more than I thought I would. I didn't know what else they could do with the story of King Kong, but they really made a different tale out of it. I also like that it's not too long, just under two hours. Really great! Can't wait for Kong vs Godzilla!

Rather than following the old tale of girl gets kidnapped by an ape, this one deals with the relationship of an animal and the islanders that he protects. And new visitiors to the island who learn of all the island creatures and their interactions. The photography was beautifully shot in the mountains of Hawaii, Austraila and the Philippines.

I love steelbooks and try to get them whenever they're offered for movies I like and want to own. I'm really glad to see the trend going to 4k steelbooks rather than just blu-ray, since it's a true collector's format. This movie was a lot of fun, and the case is really cool. The movie looks amazing in 4k, and the case looks amazing on my shelf!

Whether you're a fan of any previous versions of Kong, Godzilla or any Kaiju related movies than I highly recommend this. IMHO this may be the best remake in the past 10 years. Picture quality is reference quality and the sound will rival that if any 4k Blu-ray released to date on

I thought I'd enjoy this because it had a terrific monster. Little did I suspect that it would also have a first-rate and exciting script. Can't wait for the sequel. PS-My wife, who only watches monster movies because she loves me, really enjoyed it and said she would like to see it again.

This is a great buy if you are a fan of the movie, as the 4K quality of the film is really good (it looks great on my 4K TV even without HDR). The extra features on the 2nd Blu-ray disc are worth watching also if you are interested in having more insight about the making of the movie.

Good HDR image on the disc. The Atmos is fantastic. The sound separation between people voices on the bottom and King Kong on the top in the Atmos channels is excellent. Overall a Good buy.

This movie was ok but its been done over so many times and its all the same plot.

Missed this movie in the theaters. Glad to be able to watch at home. Hard to believe some of the characters, but the fight scenes among the monsters/creatures were good enough for me to buy the movie. Spoiler alert... will line up with the Godzilla universe we saw the year before.

It was a good movie. Took two copies before I got one that played right. Quality blanks don't cost very much but apparently it's quantity over quality. I had two other movies in the same batch of movies on the display do the same thing and also needed to be returned.

I didn't expect this to be that great because we've already had a pretty good King Kong reboot a few years ago. This was a bit different because it's much more action packed and doesn't really pretend to be much more than that. What you see is what you get..a giant destructive ape!

I ordered the movie Skull Island had it in 2 days as promised by Best Buy. Great movie the Blu Ray Disc brings out the details in 4k uhd and the Dolby Atmos version sounds great through my Onkyo TX 656 receiver. Also used my 5 dollar certificate. Love my Best Buy app on my smartphone.

Once again we have another Kong movie but this one was way different from the rest. I love the visuals and special effects. Samuel L Jackson did an amazing job portraying his character that you actually hated him. This movie made me laugh and cry at times. I can't wait for the sequel.

We had to get this classic before watching Kong -vs-Godzilla. It gives a great back story and really gives a understanding of Kong. If you love Godzilla you must have this Kong Skull Island in your collection.

No one will ever make a better King Kong movie than the 1933 original. This one is very good and entertaining. The story is good, acting is fair, and the graphics are very good. If you are a Kong lover (like me!) you won't be disappointed. Not as good as the original or Peter Jackson's remake, but it's certainly worth the purchase/time.

“Kong: Skull Island” is a movie best seen on the big screen. Short of that, one can still enjoy the larger-than-life Kong in his elements at home. I enjoyed this movie on my 65” screen and recommend the film to movie fans.
