The app doesn't support the latest generation of phone (s7 edge) and even on the s6 it was a godawful app that never did what it was suppose to. The "key" that came with it has stopped working even after reprogramming attempt. It's dead. It's also 25 dollars to replace, and sense we can't use our phone....well its an expensive key lock now. Customer service is also bad. Kwikset will not get back with you.

The instructions are not that easy to follow but lock works great.

Not really a huge fan of this lock it's a little inconvenient

If the door's lock encounters any resistance when locking, the battery on the lock will die and the motor is often not strong enough to lock the door. This became useless for me unless I re-set my door.

This lock only works with Apple 4S and older and Android note 3 and older....per their customer service...no plans to update....returned product.

Idea is great, but having lots of issues with connection. Seems app always needs to be open for use. Somewhat cheaply made.

Almost a year ago I purchased this lock.Just like many of these five star reviews that are written during the honeymoon period of ownership, I too thought that this thing was really cool and an awesome product. So much so that within a couple of days had bought three more for my home two homes, vacation house and my mothers home. Fast forward two months later, we started having problems with them locking automatically when closing the door as you exit. At first I thought that we were accidentally touching the lock while closing the door. Since the product was so cool, high quality and expensive I made every excuse for any shortcomings that started to arise. The customer service people were not any help, first they blamed it on the installation, then on user error. I installed all units myself, and had them reinstalled by professionals same results. The locks lock by themselves when you close the door 2 out of 5 times. I tested this by not having the fobs (which quit working after three months, changing the fobs battery helped for a few weeks but the $5 batteries get expensive quick) or my phone with me when exiting the house and still the lock will sometimes lock. Essentially locking you out. I have now made it a habit of have the key with me at all times. Even when I go outside to pick up the paper in my robe. Not fun being locked out of your house at 530 in the morning. Funny how this same thing has happened with all four locks in three different parts of the country. The final straw was when my elderly mother could not get into her home, due to the lock not wanting to work with her fob, phone and the key was too hard for her to turn. Locks have been removed and packed up as a reminder of a waste of $1,000, hours and health.

Unless your door has a very easy lock and fit in its frame, this is a poor solution because the battery isn't strong enough to turn the latch if there is ANY resistance.

Installed this and it never would work correctly. Seems as if t was a manufacture defect maybe?? Anyhow went to Home Depot bought a different lock and have had no trouble.

I purchased this product with the hope it would be as amazing as I envisioned. Unfortunately it was not, the system was very glitchy and did not work well at all.

I bought this lock for the safety of my kids so when they get home they can go through the front door instead opening and showing off an empty garage. My oldest child has a phone, so she can run the app and easily open the door. The best part is that I get a notification when she unlocks the door and I know she's home. My youngest child uses the fob. Unfortunately the fob does not send any notifications so I don't know when/if she has come through the door. The app was ok to set up, and little confusing a first. I hate that you have to have the app running along with bluetooth to make this work, but my daughter doesn't seem to mind. Some great improvements would be for this to work on wifi so I can get a notification when she locks the door again from the inside, and I would like to label the key fobs and receive a notification of when they are used to lock/unlock a door. I would recommend this to a friend if they could make those simple updates. Also, we weren't able to use our original keys like some individuals since our old lock was a different brand.

The installation was pretty much easy, took me less than 30 min to install and configure. I don't know why other reviewer state the apps has to be open but not true. As long the apps is running on the background. your iphone can be on your pocket or your bag, it will open the door. I wish they have the Wifi setup where you can unlock and locked using your wifi internet like the august. I wish Kevo release an update and they will get a 5 stars from me for sure. I create an account for my wife and one form me. I live the 24hr guests pass that is only good for 24hrs for my guests that are staying with us.

There are some pros and some cons to this product. I've had it for a little over a month now and I have mixed reviews on it. Pro: Not having to fumble for your keys There is a log on the app of when the lock is used. Easy to install Cons: kevo may not work on the first Time you tap on it. You have to have the app open in order to use it You have to buy another product in order to use it when you're not home to let someone into your house.

This is a beautiful piece of equipment. The blue illuminated ring is very impressive. The concept is fantastic. The one drawback, and its kind of a big one, is that it takes two or three times minimum to unlock the door from the outside. I have to stand there and make sure it locks. Id like it if I could just close the door, hit the lock once, and be on my way. For a convenience and time saver, sometimes its just the opposite. Also, why can't I have a touch lock on the inside too? Why can I have the awesome tech on the outside, but have to deal with this clunky manual turn lock on the inside? Im keeping it for now. A big plus is that you can update the firmware, so Im hoping this puppy gets better.

I've been using this lock for about a month now and this is what I've discovered: Pros: 1. Works as advertised about 50% of the time. 2. It's a conversation starter at times, I guess. Cons: 1. The deadbolt doesn't always unlock forcing you to pull the key out of your pocket and unlock it manually or stand there for five minutes tapping the lock until it finally unlocks. 2. There are only two (2) "ekeys" one for yourself and one for a guest. Each additional ekey is $1.99 on the app store. The lock is too expensive to be tacking on these extra in app purchases in my opinion. 3. You have to purchase a separate $100.00 bluetooth device that connects to your home network to unlock your door from anywhere. It does not come with built in WIFI capabilities. All in all it is a decent deadbolt, but all you are really paying for is a conversation starter. For the most part you will be using a normal key to unlock your door.

I love home technology and think this is a great idea. Unfortunately this lock just doesn't work consistently. The packaging indicates that users should be able to keep your phone in your pocket or on your person I haven't found it to work that easily. 60% of the time the bluetooth device picks up the signal. Typically after 2-3 tries. The other 40% of the time I end up having to take my phone out of my pocket or briefcase and literally hold it closer to the lock. My objection is if I am going to fumble around for a phone to operate a $200 lock, I might as well fumble around for a $2 key and have kept my old $50 lock. I gave it 2 stars just because the idea. Performance is just not as advertised.

I have had the Kevo bluetooth lock for about 2 months and it has worked every time until today. Tim at Kevo customer support had me up and running again in no time. Great support TNX I do not have to hand out keys and can delete e-keys at will to stop unauthorized entry

I have this on my apartment door. It is amazing. Easily let my friends in to pick up something they forgot or to take care of my dog. I don't have to worry about losing my keys or leaving one at the corner deli. So simple and so easy to use. Plus I smile every time I open my door.
