This is a great way for anyone to get into V.R. Great for kids of the proper age 7+ to enjoy building there own V.R headset and blaster. You also have the choice of making your own V.R mini games. Great for the price and hours of fun and learning. With more expansions to this kit tou can add on more fun.

If you ever wanted a good VR fun experience without breaking the bank, this is the best VR imo, Nintendo made something special here. if you have a Switch it start at $40 for the basic package, you get the VR viewer and the bazooka part. both you have to build yourself, the viewer takes around 20 minutes and bazooka took me maybe 1 hr a 30 minutes but I was doing it fast. Really Recommend this and if you want more stuff you can buy the other parts separate.

Pro if your kid can assemble it themself during Coronavirus times. Con if you have to do all the work! It’s a lot of tedious folding and assembling with no glue. Rubber bands, rivets, pieces clicking into place. It’s very impressive! Plus, it’s cardboard so when your kids grow out of it you can just recycle! Also, it was half price so even better.

As a family with one Switch and three Switch lights, it was time we found something different to try out instead of Animal crossing. When this kit was on sale (extreme discount), it was the right time to try it out with minimal loss to the bank account if we didn’t like it. This kit was very easy to put together, my 9-year-old did most of the work. After assembly, we found that the switch screen up close makes this a less than desirable experience. Everything is very pixelated in a world of HD screens and 4K TVs. It’s very noticeable how bad the screen is that close to your eyes. The quality of the card board is very good and doesn’t feel like it will degrade very quickly, as long as you are not being abusing to the kit. After about a week, the “cool” factor wore off and nobody in the family has really played with it since. All in all, it’s a great idea, but I would skip this if I were to buy it again.
Likes: Fun concept; easy to build; decent materials construction
Dislikes: “Cool” factor quickly wears off; lenses get dirty easily; viewing experience is terrible in a world of HD screens
Oh, by the way: If you do buy this kit, make sure you follow the directions and keep track of all the pieces. It’s not fun if you have to tear it apart because you forgot to add in a piece earlier on in the build process.

only complaint is its 90% cardboard. Wish they were more sustainable but its a fun thing to build and use. Got them for $20 so can't complain about that price but normal price is pretty high.

This is a good started kit to VR, especially for kids.. It is fun and entertaining, but the build does take awhile and I wish they had included more games to play.

A little disappointed that the Nintendo Labo VR kit, which includes all add ones were sold out. We bought this for our 9 yr old and after waiting a few days for the complete set to become available, we decided to keep this set. We have the other sets so this was just as easy (and fun) for our son to put together. The VR takes some time to getting used to, so limit your usage in the beginning to adjust. Great price ($39.99) and tons of fun. This set comes with games for immediate play.

We bought both the vehicle kit and this one. At first, we have no expectations of what kind of games they have in there. But one of the best experience getting out of it was building the bozzoka. It was a long process, but surely my boy appreciated every single steps that he made through the video and gave him a great satisfaction when it is completed. Turns out the shooting games and VR Google was quite fun! Love that hippo game!! Not bad for $20!!

Like most Labo, the joy is the the journey... don't expect this to match up to PSVR or other higher end VR products... especially because Switch handheld mode only goes up to 720p - but with that said Nintendo did a good job with this... it's fun to put together and it's fun to play. The lower priced starter kits make it easy and affordable for anyone to give it a try... which II do recommend that you do!

Nintendo Labo VR kit is the best entry point into VR if you have a Nintendo Switch. The kit is really fun to build and the blaster adds a level of immersion not seen in other VR kits. Although the Switch's resolution is lower, it still works well as the games don't go for realism. It will be even more worthwhile once VR comes to Mario Odyssey and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Fun to build. Fun to play. The depth that VR brings to games is an immersive experience. Sort of a kitschy, low definition, glimpse into the future of gaming. Packed with 50+ mini-games plus a game creator (vr garage) where you can make your own mini-games. A good handful of VR video clips. Additional content coming for Mario Odyssey and VR Zelda both with free updates. Awesome Blaster gun too. Nintendo Labo knocked it out of the park! I hope, but don’t expect, vr updates to more games and apps like youtube vr, netflix, hulu as well as shareable vr garage games with online subscription.

LABO VR is a great experience

My daughter and I love LABO! The whole entire process of putting the toy cons together is really something else. The amount of user friendly engineering here really takes you back while assembling. In terms of the VR itself, for $40 this is a steal. The screen even though admittedly a little blurry really provides an above average experience especially for this price tag. There are loads of games to play, the goggles are comfortable to wear and the amount of variety in the games is great! My daughter was blown away by the experience and I’m sure many others around her age of 7 will be as well. I can’t wait to try this with Zelda and Mario next week! Should be a blast. If you are intimidated by VR or are looking to just even experiment LABO VR is the perfect entry way into the sub-genre of video gaming.

I wasn't really sure how fun this could be with just cardboard. But it's actually really fun and my son enjoys playing the VR games. The instructions are easy for my 9 year old to follow and build. I just make sure I'm around if he has any issues or questions.
I would only request that Nintendo come out with a way to strap the VR to your head. There are some spots that require you to hold a joy-con in your hand while holding the VR to your face... This makes it difficult to control.

VR on the cheap

Got this for my 9 year old son as it was a cheap way to get the VR setup for the Switch. He put it together himself with no problems. The quality of the VR is nowhere near the Oculus or PS4 VR, but it is still fun to play. Haven't tried the Mario VR mini game yet, but Zelda was really fun to play as were the included ones. They're not going to hold your attention for a long time, but that's what's great about this - cheap entry price and decent VR for the price. One star down as the blaster is already showing signs of wear after only a couple of days of light use. It's cardboard, so I didn't expect much, but some of the areas could have been double fortified to increase the longevity.

My grandkids, 5 and 7, love this. The 5 yo wasn't able to help much with putting the goggles or blaster together but the 7 yo was good at it. It is not a quick process, but the step by step process makes it easy. Plus, it kills a lot of time which is a good thing right now (currently quarantine time). The VR effect is really good (not PS4 VR good, but consider the price difference) and the games are super fun and both kids love them. Totally worth the price, especially if you pick it up on sale. I'll definitely look into other Labo items.

Nintendo’s first VR attempt is a fun one

Nintendo’s first attempt at VR comes in the form of the Nintendo Labo VR Kit and I have to say, it’s a success! The blaster is a lot of fun to mess around with! It feels so satisfying actually having to pump the blaster to reload. The mini games in this kit are very short and a little lackluster. A lot of them are just the same content just reskinned to look different but the blaster is where this really shines. The VR headset is no different than Google’s “Cardboard” but that’s not a bad thing here. You can even put your phone in the headset and check out YouTube videos in VR. Pretty cool!

I grabbed this item on sale for my kids as they have really enjoyed some of the other LABO kits. This one ranks pretty high though, the VR is passable and the games are fun. As always, the mechanics behind the kits are incredible and kids and adults alike will have fun spending time putting the VR and the blaster together. A VR warning in general, using it for too long can lead to dizziness and disorientation, so this might be a good one to limit for the younger ones!

Amazing Nintendo VR experience

Labo VR is an amazing experience on the Nintendo Switch. Be aware there is a deluxe pack with some more games and attachments included, but this basic set is well worth the cost. My favorite is the blaster gun that puts you into several alien invasion on-rail shooting missions. Missions range from downtown, subway, skyscraper, and even beaming up inside of the alien ship. The games are highly immersive with a pump action gun that feels surprisingly well built. Other co-op games include launching fruit into hippo's mouths for a high score. Other games are available including some game modes that you can create your own games with.
As for the experience, any VR can make some people nauseous which is something to consider. Higher refresh rates on more expensive VR devices can make the experience better, but some in game movement can make things worse. I tell you this because I had not previously played VR and it hit me pretty hard. VR nausea can be overcome. Play in short bursts, take breaks, drink water, point a fan at yourself, things can get better so don't instantly dismiss it. It took me half a dozen 10-15 minute sessions to overcome most of the nausea, and after 30 or more times playing the game I can play for longer with rarely any discomfort. I've since picked up PSVR and can largely play that with the same level of comfort yet some transitions like running and changing direction can almost instantly trigger nausea. The gameplay on Labo VR is setup in a way that the experiences it offers avoid the standard gameplay in typical games that can cause nausea. My kids 15, 12, 9, and even 5 have tried this game and really enjoy it (at least in short bursts).
All around I can easily recommend picking up this game if you own a Switch.
