I was very skeptical that this was one of Nintendo's experimental gimmicks but I discovered a surprisingly well-conceived, well-designed product. It has a literally "out-of-the-box" level of ingenuity that is refreshing in its creativity. It suffers from typecasting as expensive cardboard but if you boot it up and see the care and thought put into this product, you can see how the price tag might be justified. That being said, you can sometimes find LABO sets on sale for even greater value. I particularly like how I can engage my kid with minimal mess and play together as a family. I definitely recommend a try.

I bought this to put together with my 4yo. Probably not the best project for that age range (It's not really meant to be). Otherwise, Nintendo makes the building of each kit easy and fun.

This is a great experiential toy. My nephew loved it. Fairly sturdy parts with easy instructions. It’s different and memorable

This is the easier of the three sets to put together. Had a lot of fun with the kids putting this one together and tinkering around with.

It’s so much fun to build these cardboard sets! Easy enough to follow along with the videos with children! Reminds me of legos but with a game.

Innovative, entertaining and extremely enjoyable to put everything together and see how it all functions.

Nintendo started as a hanafuda card manufacture before evolving into a video game juggernaut, so using cardboard creatively is not out of the question. This can be a great introduction to STEM for kids, and the cardboard holds up decently. You will spend a lot of time on these builds, and some other games have begun to incorporate the Labo builds into control schemes (e.g., Mario Kart 8 Deluxe allows the motorcycle build to be used). The Garage is where you can come up with your own ideas (using whatever items you have on hand).

I built this entire set with my daughter and we enjoyed it! Definitely recommended for the younger crowd

It’s a cool gift if you want to expand the abilities of the Switch outside of gaming. It’s creative and not too difficult to assemble.

Great for a 9 year old as well as his 70 year old assistant. We assembled only one project so far and it has not disappointed

I thought this would just be another gimmick cheap cardboard. Boy was I wrong, all the kits are superbly engineered and work as advertised.

This is quit an interesting concept. I played this with my 11 year old and she really enjoyed it, but has never asked to play it again. In my opinion it is worth a try if it is on sale.

This is the coolest thing ever. My teenage daughter wanted it, but as an adult, I love it. Great fun. Decorating has been a lot of fun too.

We bought for our 8 yr old son and he loves it! He enjoyed building all of the items and enjoys the games immensely!

The labo kits are actually very fun. Very time intensive with the build process so be prepared to build it before you get to play.

This is a good set for children who like to build their own accessories. My nephew enjoyed building and playing with this set. I think he will be requesting the other sets in the future.

My nephew had the best time playing with this at our house, so we had to get him one of his very own. Fantastic game for all ages!

Lots of fun for the whole family! It easily gets everyone involved. It’s really awesome to see all the different things you can do with a Nintendo Switch! The kids were really amazed.

My 4 year old loves this. We have a blast building it. The software is a bit meh but we got it on sale so I can't complain.
