Although the packaging doesn't indicate it had fire wire I was shocked when I opened it. Once I opened it Best Buy wouldn't take it back even though it was unused.

I opted for the more shock resistant model and so far so good. Haven't had any major drops, and the writing speeds are pretty good on this as well.

Loose Cable Connection on Two Purchases!

Brand new cable and drive. Same problem, resulting in some corrupted video files as the drive shut off unexpectedly. The only thing "Rugged" here was my loyalty to the Lacie brand. No longer.
