My son was so confused it was the worst gift I could have gotten him.

We brought this for kids of a friend of my family's kids, and those kids love it. They can't seem to part with it even for a few minutes. It is good though cause almost all the things that these can do are educational related. It also makes it easy for us to buy expansion packs and add on programs for them to use at holiday time. This is the perfect gift for anyone 3-9... I say 3, cause it can keep a 3 year olds attention too. And the best thing is, it grows with the kids. In this regard, its because the programs get harder with age, but its not so hard that its not fun for the kids.

The Leap Frog Ultra is a great kids tablet. my daughter is 3 and 1/2 and received a leap pad ultra xdi for Christmas. she picked it up right away and knows how to use it with minimal help. there are a ton of helpful learning games available that are fun for the kids while teaching. the price is a bit steep but it does everything you need it too in a kids tablet. the screen size is perfect. a little heavy though but i suppose that is to help the durability. Overall this is probably the best kids tablet on the current market for kids younger than 8-10

We purchased this for my 3 year old son. He had a LeapPad2 but my 1 year old daughter threw it and the audio stopped working. We bought him this tablet being that he learned a lot from his Pad2. The screen is bigger and the games that come with the tablet itself are fun. He was so excite to be able to make his pet dog and dragon fly. Also its great that the game cartridges we bought for his Pad2 are compatible for the XDi. It is definitely worth the price.

I bought the LeapPad Ultra from BestBuy the very first day it came out, for my nephew's fifth birthday. When I opened it I was surprised how heavy the tablet was and actually I was a little worried that it would be too weighty for the little guy. And as other reviewers have noted, it did take a little while to setup although not nearly as long as other people have found, maybe 15 minutes over so-so wifi in my case. Lastly, the app store...well, it's not an iPad, that's for sure. But enough with the concerns. Unsurprisingly my nephew took to the tablet immediately, as I knew he would since he loves anything electronic. But three months later my sister reports that he still uses it constantly--this morning she sent me a picture of him writing on it while eating breakfast. She also says she finds the games extremely relevant to what he's currently learning is school. In particular the art program apparently is very good. I don't live in the same city so I don't see my nephew regularly and thus I can't comment on the specifics of the tablet, but I think the evidence speaks for itself: it's been a big success.

Bought this for my 4 year old daughter as an upgrade to her original Leap Pad bought in 2012. First of all, I couldn't be happier about the internal rechargeable battery. We went through a large amount of AA's with the original because she used it so much. I can't comment on the full battery life because it is plugged in when she isn't using it. We have other tablets (Apple and Android) that she will use here and there, but her Leap pad Ultra is her "go to" device. She enjoys taking pictures and making videos along with the 10 or so games that we bought over the last few years, which is another plus; all the games she had work with the new tablet with no issues. Overall this is one of the better, if not top educational tablets available. There are no gimmicks or hidden ad's like some of the apps you can buy for kids have.

Even after being thrown by a frustrated toddler, the tablet has held up well, and provides entertainment with educational value. User friendly for both parent and children.

I got this for my 3 &1/2 year old and he loves it!

I bought 2 of these for my God Father's children to avoid them going on their parents' cell phone. They love watching the Mother Goose club on You Tube and I assumed since the system has WiFi it would be great. NOT THE CASE! The system is prefixed with only allowing searching through Leap Search and content which is only "approved by LeapFrog’s team of learning experts". The kids are used to being on regular Tablets with internet browsing. Without this option the kids seem disappointed!! Although the art app and music has kept them busy, it does not keep their attention. Feel like I'm not getting the use for the purpose of my purchase. Disappointed!

Awesome Product! Would definitely recommend! This mom is happy and would recommend to a friend. Leapfrog products are top notch and not cheap quality like a lot of off brands.I love the younger kid toys too - like the fridge learning magnets and reading books. Thanks!

I thought that the leappad xdi ultra ..at this time the latest version out was too slow and freeze up . My kids like watching videos and the video screen was unable to expand. The leapfrog did come with videos included but will not play most of them all the way ... it would kick me out with less than half played on the long ones. Also the touch screen sometimes would not respond to my touches. The applications have to be bought ... it comes with basic apps only.

LeapPad Ultra crashed after only a couple of months of use. My 4-year-old was sobbing hysterically when the screen crashed. Screen was all distorted. LeapFrog replaced it with a dud - must have been a return or refurb as the screen was stuck on "tune up". Argued for a week with LeapFrog customer service until they finally agreed to swap devices. Had to ship back, wait forever. The next leappad ultra xdi is also a dud. It says " sample" on the back. This one won't charge and now LeapFrog expects me to pay return shipping so they can " test" it. LeapFrog has the worst customer service ever!

I bought the LeapPad Ultra for my 7 year old. She loves it. My 2 year old can also use it with age appropriate apps. I love that it is not easy for her to get online without my assistance with the password.

Screen cracked. I called leapfrog and they were unable to help. All I wanted was to repair the screen. I would have paid to replace it. Leapfrog told me they don't replace screen... Are u serious.... Even cell phones have replacement screens. Why would they make tablet with glass screens. I bought 4 leapfrog tablets. I won't buy another leapfrog item ever.....

Bought one, BOTH cameras defective right out of the box. Also ran so s-l-o-w and froze repeatedly. Returned the unit for a new one. Same issues, except for the cameras. Saw the reviews on the LeapFrog website, all negative reviews. Same problems for most units purchased. I am so disappointed with this product. My 2 (almost 3) year old is used to my iPad and became frustrated instantly due to the slowness and freezing. You've been warned.

I bought the Leappad Ultra for my granddaughter who was not reading up to grade level. The price is high for this sort of device but because of the wifi and reviews, I thought it would be worth it. Also, it made it seem as though there would be many useful free apps. First, most of the apps were not really educational--especially for reading. To get reading apps, I had to spend a lot of money. When we did use it with wifi, it was incredibly slow by today's standards. Also, the wifi applications were very few without paying a lot of money. Then, after just three months, it quit taking a charge. I did some trouble-shooting with the help of the website and tried attaching it to see if there were patches or updates. Instead, it partially reconfigured the Leappad and then locked up and because completely unusable. My granddaughter did enjoy the games, but it was not worth it to get another one. I appreciate Best Buy's extended warranty that allowed me to get a full refund. I purchased an actual android tablet for just $10 more.

My six year daughter got this for a Christmas present from her grandparents in Dec. 2013. At the end of Jan. 2014, it stopped working. Due to the weather I haven't been able to get to a Best Buy. However, when I do, I sure hope they will replace it. When this unit works, my daughter loves it.
