    Don't buy without protection plan.

Pros: This phone has perks. At $169.99 (current sale price) you can't beat the hardware specs to price ratio as of this date. I bought this because I wanted to save money and not compromise on performance. In this aspect, the phone met my expectations and satisfaction. All of the default apps ask for permission to access other parts of the phone which was a bit annoying, but apart from that I don't mind UI. It gets the job done. Cons: My phone was delivered a week ago. Four days later, my girlfriend accidentally dropped it on asphalt, the height couldn't have been more than 4 feet. The screen partially shattered. At first I was disappointed, but I have been dealing with a cracked screen on my previous phone for about 6 months and I am used to cosmetic damage. No big deal. Until I realize that the front buttons are not working. Now I have a problem. I can't switch between apps, go to the home screen, go "back", none of those necessary basic functions. Best Buy has offered me no help given that I didn't purchase a protection plan. Thanks Best Buy. So I email the manufacturer. This is something I don't frequently do with most things I purchase, but desperate times call for desperate measures. THE WORST TECH SUPPORT EVER! Apparently, Best Buy is not an authorized seller of this device. Therefore, they refuse to provide me with ANY help due to their "policy". I have been searching online for the LCD replacement part. Since it's a new release, I can't find it. However there are plenty of LCDs for their older devices that they sell in other countries. These part seem like they may work for this model, but I cannot find any information to confirm this suspicion. Their tech support won't even tell me if the LCD Digitizer is compatible for any of their previous devices. How am I supposed to fix it without knowing what replacement part to choose from or if it's even available? Upon further investigation, others have major complaints with device. listen to this guy for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEkpmZ1GHRo Conclusion: If you value better than OK tech support, don't buy this phone. If you value a good operating system, don't buy this phone. If you value durability, don't buy this phone. Unless you somehow never ever drop your phone, don't buy it. If you decide to buy this phone, a protection plan is a MUST! Expect that you will need it.
