Better than original
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is better than the original with more campaign missions, new characters and weapons. You can now use melee weapons like baseball bats, night stick, frying pan and others. If you get bored with that pick up a chain saw. The game has a new multiplayer mode called scavenge which rocks. If you love zombies and gore buy this game. It will make you happy that you did.

Excellent game for casual gamers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Storyline: The story is told through the characters themselves, usually through the form of bad jokes and even worse "we need to get to ____ before ______" lines. Easily forgetable but decent. Gameplay: The satisfaction of decapitating a zombie with (my personal favorite) a baseball bat sums up L4D2's zombie killing goal. Just keep in mind that this is an casual game for friends to play. Too many times I find myself put together with some hardcore overachievers who are more likely to leave you behind than help you. Graphics: This is a game where you can shoot a zombie whose blood sprays behind it on the wall while it is still coming at you. Where the sunny daylight contrasts with the carnage you are dealing. Where safehouse walls tell stories of survivors' struggles and the availability of the internet. While it may not take your breath away, it will still look good while your blowing heads off. Audio: L4D2 falls short on audio. Sure, the sound of a katana slashing through a Horde sounds great. The audio sounds especially repititive when your bot friends frequently tell you every 20 seconds the proper way to dispatch a riot gear-clad zombie

my current favorite of XBox 360
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Throw on your gear, grab your weapons, and stretch your muscles! The zombies are here and its up to you and your partners to stop 'em! As soon as this game starts your dropped in the middle of chaos. And, as you might have guessed, its an infinite amount of zombies constructing the chaos. Which leaves you only one option, blast your way through the town. But don't fret! You've got 3 partners to help you along the way, which you'll need against your fast-paced enemies. In single campaign, your partners can slow you down a bit, but in the online multiplayer, its a free-for-all shooting session. Please understand, online gaming is what games like this is made for. I've owned a XBox for a fairly short amount of time, but this game is at the top of my list as far as XBox games. I love the graphics, the sounds, the gameplay, and the setting. If ya dig apocalypse style games/movies like I do, definitely pick this game up. Highly highly recommended. *I've heard some people say that this game is just like the first Left 4 Dead. I can't vouch for that, but if you're a first time L4D'er (like me), don't hesitate in buying this game. Happy hunting!

Great game for the second time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is a very fun survival game. In most modes players must defend themselves as they travel in a group of four to the safe houses. When playing online, it is fun to switch off being survivors and play as infected. I found it that this game is best when playing online with friends. One of the best parts of the game is the new weapons and items. Also, melee weapons are fun to use. There is a new mode called scavenge where you have to collect gas cans and whoever gets the most wins-but you have to do it while the other team attacks. The variety in the game makes it worth coming back to. The achievements are also fun and challenging to obtain. The only bad thing is probably just some glitches, usually when online, but it really doesnt make much of a difference. All in all, this is a really fun game. If you liked the first one then you will like this too.

Great game. Much improved from first one.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I played Left 4 Dead 1, and I though it was sort of fun, but buying it never crossed my mind. It just didn't reach out and grab me, no pun intended, however, this game did. The reactions from the zombies when you attack them seem very realistic, the campaign levels are very unique, creative and fun, and there are more types of zombies than in the first one. The new weapons and game modes added are also awesome. When I saw that this was on sale for $35, I couldnt pass it up, and I'm glad that I picked it up. I RECOMMEND THIS GAME TO ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR A SIMPLE, FUN, AND WELL CRAFTED GAME(with the thought that it involves a lot of violence and zombie killing, so if your sensitive to the kind of stuff, its not exactly the game for you)

Solid Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was unsure if I was going to get this game or not. I still put the first one in from time to time, but I saw new game modes and what is more fun then blowing up zombies? I decided I would get it around christmas time. I saw that best buy had this game at $35 dollars (around thanksgiving) and I couldn't turn down this game for that price and I am happy that I didn't. The game is a huge upgrade from the first. The graphics are leagues ahead of the first game. There are several new modes, including a round based multiplayer over xbox lto go along with the versus mode. More guns and a longer much harder campain make this game worth the $60 you'll pay for it, if you find it for cheaper then that, buy it for sure.

worthy of note
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is a surefire good choice for those zombie mangling fanatics out there with all the ways you can hack slice whack and decimate with ever increasing explosions or incinerations or pumping lead into them. Either way a good strategy game for the teamwork savvy individual and a refreshing update for loyal fans of the first game. although some might claim its easier to in as infected or maybe even survivors its really quite balanced in my opinion and with new modes other than simply campaign or verses it retains its entertainment time for quite a while. Not only will old fans love it but its easy to learn and jump into the game for first timers, all in all a good buy for those with trigger happy fingers.

Fun zombie game, who would have thought.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has only one flaw so i will get that out of the way immediatly in my opinion it doesnt have very good replay value one you beat the game in as many ways possible its not very tempting to pick it back up, often. And i was not impressed with the online play. Although i am extremely happy that they added the online play because it does offer up alot of enjoyment. I like the fact that the game is fast paced and slow at times but it is a great blend of both, and there are some diverse enemies in this game, its not just hoards of zombies. Each of the special enemies have their own unique ways of attacking and killing them affectively can be tricky. this game is very fun and very challenging

Moar brainz, moar epicness!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes, it's very similar to the original Left 4 Dead, and yes, the game-play is pretty much the same, but how much can you vary the sequel to a zombie game? Left 4 Dead 2 = Shoot the super-fast cross-country running zombies before they nom at your brain. With 4 hilariously stereotypical characters, a load of guns and melee weapons, and very creative maps. After you play through the game yourself, this is probably best if you have at least 1-3 other friends that own it. It's a great game to play with friends, because the replay value stays quite high with the amount of variety the AI director throws your way. Plus, it's a nice game to see which of your friends crack under the pressure of a zombie apocalypse. Go buy it. Make sure to grab your samurai sword and plenty of bullets, you'll need them.

Wicked fun game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've really enjoyed playing this game, it really innovates the gameplay of the first game. If your friends are already playing online, it makes it really easy to join the game in progess (I wish more xbox live games could do that!).

New Sequel, Same Basic Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't get me wrong, this is a good game but if you've played the first installment, this is very familiar. The developers were obviously looking for the $$$ sign when they developed this. They thought oh let's change the characters, setting, added some weapons and some new zombies it will be good. This feels very familiar with the first installment with minor changes and that's undeniable. You can probably get more value if you play more online. The overall stlye of the game and yes even engine seems to be the same as the 1st one. With Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2 etc. out - it will be difficult for this game to find a good niche in the market. Seriously, if you still have the 1st one and you play mostly online it's probably a good idea to wait for a few months for the price to drop.

Decent chapter in the Left 4 Dead series.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good game that plays well and has lots of action. Its fun and challenging and you can play at home with friends or online. There is a new Scavenger mode and the new Zombie classes and melee weapons are a nice touch as well. But, if you are familiar with the first game, this one is not that much different. Its fun and dark and a nice overall game, but its not too different form the original, so I give it 4 stars out of 5.

A good game but more of the same
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first heard that the makers of half life were going to make a zombie game I was a bit skeptical at first. I played the first left 4 dead and thought it was a great and needed take on the zombie genre. 4 player co op in different situations was intense and fun. Not long after, however, a second was announced. It came out soon after and, in a way, it shows. Don't get me wrong. Im not going as far as to say that this is an unnecessary sequal. This game is still quite a bit of fun with a group of friends and if you haven't played the first game then this is definitely the one you should get. The new melee weapons are a nice fit for the game and fun to use. The new levels are pretty fun to play as well. Having played a lot of the first one with friends, however, we all agreed that it just wasn't as exciting as playing the first one. We played through all the levels and none of us felt the need to go back through and start again. It just felt a little bit like we were playing the same game. The new game modes didn't really interest us either. I still think this is a good game and worth playing with up to four people. If you don't have those people, however, I wouldn't waste full price on the game. You're AI teammates will test your patience. Make sure that your friends are the type to want to stay together and use teamwork or you will all die a lot and probably not find the game to be very enjoyable.

Left 4 Wanting More
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought Left 4 Dead 2 after seeing 80% of my friends on Xbox live playing the game. It was fun, but probably the shortest game I have ever bought for my 360. I can't imagine what the people without Xbox live do with this game. I finished it in about 4 days and I only played the game an hour a day. But enough with the negative, the game really is FUN. The multiplayer portion is incredible and the 5 main characters are all pretty awesome.

Going to be fun
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think the game will be great but i know people who are not going to buy it because they think it will not be much different from the first installment. I say, why not get it. If you liked the first game, this is more left 4 dead excitement. Can't wait for the new infected and weapons. Versus and Realism mode are going to be great. I love playing L4D with 3 of my great friends.
