Amazing device with a lot of versatility. I upgraded from the original Legion Go and this device is more comfortable despite being heavier. The improved ergonomics, fantastic OLED screen, VRR and increased battery life make this a great upgrade over the original. The chip is also faster and will give a 10-15% performance increase in most games. Highly recommended.

This is a great handheld pc! I really like the size of the screen and it has great image quality. Performance is solid. The overall ergonomics of the system are good and it does not feel overly heavy. FPS mode is a great feature and I have used it a lot for strategy games. The touchpad can be used for gaming after adjusting windows sensitivity settings but the ergonomics of it are not as good as on the Steam Deck. I would love if lenovo released a right controller with a different layout that prioitizes touch pad and scrollwheel ergonomics in handheld mode for strategy games. This has been a great buy! Overall a strong upgrade from the Steam Deck OLED and I am happy with the purchase!

Overall, an amazing device. As I enjoy playing older AAA games, this machine is a beast. For newer AAA games, I would have to significantly reduce the graphics, but with Steam and streaming from my desktop, it's possible. With this OLED screen, I had the same crisp image I would get on my desktop, and that was my biggest reason for wanting to keep it. Battery life was manageable. The controller was right up my alley, as I have longer hands. The detachable controllers were a very new experience compared to the switch, and being able to play it while rocking my child on my chest was awesome. One thing I had to do when opening it was to install the drivers and updates. It is Windows 11, so expect that to be normal when booting up daily. I see on the Lenovo site that they do have more variants of this model, where it comes in 2TB, which I had hoped for, but it doesn't seem like Best Buy will sell that version. All in all, great device if your just getting into the handheld world.

This is my first PC purchase since 2004. This truly is the coolest PC I could have gotten and lucky enough for me. I got it before the price hikes. I don't know if I would have been able to afford it afterwards, but this has been capable of paying every game that I've wanted. I'm able to do my writing. The battery life is so far not been an issue. The resolution looks amazing and it hasn't had any hiccups whatsoever.

The Legion Go 2 is an amazing handheld gaming device. The giant OLED screen is glorious and it has VRR also. It’s more comfortable to hold than the 1st Legion Go. It’s powerful and you can play any game. The fans are quieter this time around. The sounds has been greatly improved for the Go 2. The only thing I don’t like about it is the detachable controllers. I have no interest in taking the controllers off. I’d rather have one solid piece like the Go S, but some people may like playing like that.

I bought this item as used acceptable condition. When I received the item it looked almost brand new with the papers and everything that came from the factory included The charger still had the plastics on it. It looks like somebody open this package maybe decided that they didn't want it and sent it right back. As far as this particular variation of this device I plan on using SteamOS. I had another one with the same RAM and processor and with steam OS it was amazing. I have a laptop for playing my AAA titles at higher resolution and higher frame rate so this is mainly for my backlog and indie games but it will play AAA games at a playable frame rate if you need to play them on the go. The best comparison I have for this would be that it's like a beefed up steamed deck with a better screen.

I’ve been using the Legion Go 2 for a little while now, and I’m honestly blown away. It feels solid the moment you pick it up, and the performance is way better than I expected for a handheld. Games run smoothly, the screen looks gorgeous, and the controls just feel right in my hands. I also added the Xbox full-screen experience, which makes the whole setup even better. It’s quickly become my favorite way to play when I’m not at my desk. Super happy with this purchase!

A fantastic, if flawed, handheld PC

As a long-time PC user who later switched to Mac, I found myself missing the games and capabilities unique to PC. Enter the Legion Go 2—a portable PC gaming device that, at first glance, is such a novel, fantastic idea. It combines the flexibility of a PC with the portability of a handheld console. The highs: The screen is simply outstanding. Regardless of specs or performance metrics, the real estate and quality are something that must be seen to be fully appreciated. I also enjoy the quality, as well as the detachable controllers, reminiscent of the Nintendo Switch. The addition of a small built-in mouse pad is a surprisingly useful touch. The lows: If you’re looking for a performance powerhouse, this isn’t it. While it handles many newer AAA games well, it’s not designed for sustained heavy workloads. Battery life is limited—expect around two hours (conservatively) with demanding applications. Additionally, some may find the device somewhat cumbersome. Be prepared for some software bugs that are hopefully rectified by future updates. Bottom Line: It’s expensive, imperfect, and probably unnecessary… yet somehow I can’t stop loving it. Not a powerhouse, not a bargain, but surprisingly addictive. Despite its shortcomings, I find it charming and enjoyable—more than I initially expected. For those who value portability without completely giving up PC gaming, it’s a device worth considering. The Legion Go 2 won’t replace your gaming PC, but it might steal your heart.

      Hi CarGuy-

Thank you for choosing Lenovo and sharing your experience with us. We are happy to hear that you are enjoying the display quality and product design Legion Go 2. We aim to offer great user experience and would love to share some actions you can take to improve battery life and enhance your experience with the device

The Legion Go 2 can adjust the active performance profile and fan speed of the device based on your needs. To start press the hexagonal options key located on the right controller, then select the performance tab represented by the gauge symbol, from here you can adjust the performance mode. We recommend Quiet Mode which will both reduce fan noise when playing games and extend battery life.

Firstly, we recommend running and installing all available drivers updates through Legion Space and Windows Update Settings, these updates are crucial to the device’s health and adjust power allocation leading to improved performance. To check for updates within Legion Space begin by launching the application, then click "Disks and Drivers" located at the bottom of the display, then select "Check for Updates". To check for Windows Updates, start by launching the Settings app, then selecting the Windows Update tab on the left-hand side of the page, finally select the “Check for updates’ button located in the top right of the page.

We would also like to hear more about your experience with the software bugs you encountered so that we may improve. Were there particular programs that were not working correctly? Were there any features of the device that were not working? Please let us know if you would like to share any comments with us.

Please reach out to us through the Q & A section of this product webpage if you have any additional comments or need any assistance.

An upgrade in every way from the first one. It's def not cheap, but the OLED really is everything on this one. Significantly better feeling to hold than the Go 1, I find it to be a toss up comfort wise with Go S. Better sound, slightly better performance but better efficiency overall than gen 1. My favorite Handheld I have ever tried, and I have used a Steam Deck Oled, a LeGo 1, an ROG Ally, and LeGo S.

Overall, nice in a several aspects, from the gorgeous screen, decent sticks and D pad, as well as battery life. The negatives are far outweighing the positives though in this scenario. There top firing speakers are so poor compared to the claw or the Ally. Even the Legion Go S has a superior speaker setup. Then we get into the weight, it’s BIG, but also bulky, it tends to wear on the wrists and become unwieldy. You can also find issue with the placement of the headphone jack and second USB-C, which are on the bottom and make them completely unusable if using the kickstand or docked. Aside from that, it’s a decent device. I have large hands, so it presented a problem with the layout of the right stick and buttons, as it felt very cramped. I ended up returning it due to those myriad of issues. Not worth the price premium.

I purchased an Asus ROG XBOX Ally X a little less than one month ago as my first handheld gaming PC. Love the xbox controller-like grips and the Asus software is surprisingly not terrible (my expectations werent high going in). The ONLY reason I purchased the Legion GO 2 like many people, is for the 8.8” oled display, as the 7” non-oled on the Asus does feel just a little too small. I purchased the LEGO 2 about two weeks ago but I didnt set it up until yesterday when I settled in from being out of town on vacation. I will be spending a few weeks with both devices and keeping the one I like living with the best, and returning the other. I am on the fence on which one to keep simply due to the fact that the Lenovo is lacking severly in the driver/software update space, when compared to the ROG. The other huuuge difference and something i haven’t mentioned yet is that i’m on the fence and when I purchased the Lenovo about two weeks ago, I only paid $1350, compared to the $2000!!!!!! price tag that i just noticed today. I was on the fence between the two devices when the Lenovo was $1350 and then a seemingly overnight $650 price increase makes the ROG an obvious winner at half the price. I mean, at $2000, I’d go with a 14” ROG Zephyrus with a dedicated 5070ti to game on.

The Best Hardware with the Worst Software

As a point of reference, I am coming from using a launch model LCD SteamDeck for the past several years. In comparison, the OLED screen on this thing really is the best screen I've ever seen on a handheld. Amazing color, amazing blacks, good response time and a high 144 hz variable refresh rate down to 30 FPS. If you're going to get this thing, the screen is the reason. Performance is also nice and noticeably better than the SteamDeck but you can get similar performance for a good bit less if the screen isn't important to you. A big con (besides the price) is Windows. I cannot even begin to describe how awful the experience of using windows on a handheld is. Coming from Steam OS it is just brutal and I feel like I am fighting the operating system to do anything when I am outside of a game. Windows is just not designed for this. One other very minor con are the controllers. I wish they'd just ditch the detachable controller gimmick as the side buttons for the detachable mouse controller on the right just feel fiddly and bad. Thankfully they don't cause accidental inputs and you'll get used to it but it feels like something I shouldn't have to deal with for the price. The bigger issue with these is that the detachable nature of the controls meant that Lenovo couldn't use the space on the front side for speakers and you get stuck with top firing speakers as a result. These aren't awful but again are something that feels sub par for the price. Not a fan of the bottom mounted headphone jack either as you can't really use it if you are lying down and using the handheld which IMHO is the best way to use it since you can rest it on your stomach/chest area. Not a huge deal to me but still a negative. But did I mention that the screen is amazing? Despite the complaints I do like this thing and you may too depending on how important the screen is to you. Rumor is that both Steam OS and Windows Xbox UI are coming to it this year and if either happens it will address almost all of my issues.

This thing is a beast! A huge performance upgrade over the Legion Go 1. While the Legion Go 1 was fast, it was definitely held back by the lack of RAM and screen resolution, but the 2 solved both of these issues for me with 32 gb of RAM and a smaller screen resolution that somehow looks even better than the original device. Highly recommended upgrade! Only downside is that 1tb feels like a low amount of storage for how many games I play. 2tb standard would have been better.

This device has been a solid upgrade from my steam deck Oled. It allows me to play more demanding games at higher FPS and resolution. Battery life is OK, but that’s a trade off I was willing to make. Right side of the device was a little cramp inducing due to the layout of buttons and joystick, but my hand already adjusted a good amount to it. Will still keep my SD for lower end gaming since it’s still a great device for those games.

Obviously the screen really is the best part of the new Legion Go 2. But on top of that the device really has a premium feel to it now. And the addition of a 144hz VRR screen is amazing. Not to mention it is now OLED too. Speakers are an improvement over the previous version as well. The only negative, and I won't really dock it for this, is the case it comes with isn't a hardshell like before. And doesn't have a handle. But it is more compact so that's a plus.

So I’ll start off by saying I really enjoying using this handheld. The screen, speakers, and controls were top notch. It was very powerful and ran a lot of games at low settings but full resolution. So zero complaints on performance. Battery life was absolutely terrible. Even just watching videos I couldn’t get more than a few hours out of the device. And while gaming it was a must to be plugged it for any extended gaming session. But you couldn’t play games long without either leaning on a table or having some way to support the device. This thing was uncomfortably heavy. So using it in tablet mode with the controllers disconnected or leaning on a table. I ultimately returned it because it just wasn’t worth the money.

      Hello,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're sorry to hear that you ran into some pain points, leading to you returning the system. We understand your perspective, and we've noted your comments regarding battery life and weight. In a mission to deliver every performance and feature spec users asked for the Legion Go to have, the Legion Go 2 was born, and with that comes the drawbacks of system efficiency with a high-performance CPU, along with the necessary components to keep it cool and more, leading to more weight.

We have noted your comments, as your input is important in our review of opportunities for improvement. We hope that you choose our products again in the future, and that you feel free to reach out to us with any issues, as we strive to provide the best experience possible.

As an avid console gamer, and currently maining the PS5Pro, im sure we all have pondered, “Should i get into the pc scene?” And all the complications of pc parts and configurations and whatnot. I got the LeGo1 awhile ago to test it out and it absolutely blew my mind. It really is a Portable PC with great versatility. LeGo2? Its similar to those space movies and they travel through space at lightspeed and you see it just BLASTOFF. Thats the difference between LeGo1 and 2! Thermal is like 100x better, fingerprint scanner is absoultely game changing without us even wanting it, the new Desktop and Task buttons were GENIUS and it makes the entire handheld PC experience 32x better. Ergonomics is 17x better. OLED screen? Its SIGNIFICANTLY better and vivint. Some caviats are that one of the USBC ports are on the bottom…. Which is just brain dead asf. The “out-of-the-box” BIOS is not optimized, so i can see many “noobs” getting frustrated trying to configure the system softwares. Buttttttttt other than that this device is hands down the cream of the crop right now.
