An upgrade to the ROG Ally
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally had a ROG Ally for more than a year, and recently sold it to try the Lenovo go. The large, beautiful screen on this device is unmatched by any other handheld currently on the market. Also, it seems like most, if not all, of the software bugs have been worked out with this device, and it is truly ready for prime time. This thing is packed with features and is actually usable as a portable PC as well. I can never go back to a small 7 inch screen again.

Peculiar device.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Legion Go is a peculiar one. The display is hands down the best on the market for handheld gaming pcs. It’s big, and it’s beautiful and I wish the other manufacturers would go with at least a 8” display. Unfortunately that’s where it began and ended for me. Everything else just seemed worse than the steam deck oled. Speakers are top firing, weak, and tinny. The button layout is odd due to the removable controllers. FPS/RTS mode is cool but not something I see myself ever using. Windows isn’t horrible on this size display but I do wish there was an alternate way to sign in other than touching the display itself and smudging it every time you use the device. All those are peeves I could live with. Except this last one.. the cooling fan is horrendous. It sounds like there’s a tiny dentist drilling a new hole into my tinnitus. I couldn’t use the device while sitting on the opposite side of the couch than my gf because she could also hear this tiny dentist drill. Ultimately I did return the device and got the steam deck oled and have been extremely happy with my decision. I do miss the 8.8” display but everything else I could live without. I applaud Lenovo on being big and bold in their handheld debut but unfortunately I think it just missed on a few too many marks. And I also can’t help but feel like without the removable controllers it would be a better device. More room for better cooling/fan/battery.

A Marvelous and Misunderstood Monster of A Machine
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, I coming from the Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch, ROG Ally and PC & console gaming. My Opinion: The Legion Go is a prime choice if you can freedom in the titles that you can play, a large screen, and like the flexibility of a hybrid design. One thing that may ruin your experience though, is Windows 11 and the need to config BIOS and hardware. With that said, it is the best choice on the market if you're willing to learn and change settings. What's Misunderstood: Many reviewers and Youtubers have uploaded videos showing that the LEGO does not perform as well as the ROG Ally. Is that true? Yes, if you do not change some of the configuration. The main that cause that outcome is the RAM Speed, you'll need to change it from 7500Mhz to 6400Mhz, this will allow it to perform like the ROG Ally at 15w and lower. Most AAA tiles can be played Low-Med or High with the help of FSR and RSR once the change is made. What have changed since: Most reviews were done after the initial 3-4 update, since then I has had driver updates, Windows 11 has had some updates, and AMD has provided updates that also include frame-generation which currently only works on external displays for legion go, but the Lossless scaling app on Steam is a solution. Legion Space has also been updated to include custom TDP(Power Settings) and Fan Settings, as well as how to change hardware. Conclusion: The Legion Go, if you are willing to make the changes and realized that it has more time to mature ahead, but undoubtedly a solid choice that is underestimated and misunderstood by those expecting an out the box requiring no work on their end. I've tested over 10 separate models of the Legion Go and even the open box models should be a solid buy as well as long as the previous owner did not lock the BIOS. Hope this helps someone in their choice.

Great for on the go gaming
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think this is a really awesome device, it is very powerful, the screen is incredible quality and I really like how the buttons feel. Only negatives I can think of it that it is sort of awkward removing the controllers from the device, it feels sort of unnatural when putting them on and off - and navigating windows is sort of strange, while the touchpad is nice, I dislike the touchscreen keyboard which is a software problem and I could totally see it coming down to personal preference. Overall a great machine though!

Hope for software improvement
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like it is very sleek and feels premium. It is quite heavy compared to its competitors (Rog Ally, Steam deck) however the software is probably its weakest point. Its in its early stages so theres plenty of time to work put kinks which I hope they (Lenovo) will and the Ally didnt start in a better place with the Z1E processor either but currently the Ally with the same TDP and resolution settings is more responsive and lasts longer battery wise playing the same games. The controllers are also both excellent and at times not very responsive. Trackpad needs some work though Im not sure if that can be a software deal.

Nice machine
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very good hand-held Pc, as a PC gamer myself this is what I needed, the screen is gorgeous, and it look nice. To play in bed, in the couch or during flight it just feels nice and confortable. The delivery time was low because of high demand but I was able to send mine to a ups store to pick it up in a city I was traveling to... If you are looking for a potable machine to play l, this is the best decision... Also don't Buy 512gb unless you are going to upgrade to 2tb. Game this days are very large (30 to 100 gb). So get the 1tb or update the 512 to 2tb

Not your ordirnary gaming device
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am fortunate enough to have a gaming computer, a switch 2, a ps5.. a cellphone.. all things to "game" on but they all feel stuck in the past. Stuck in the needless cycle of what they were originally built for - Utility, expensive closed off stores and unnecessarily limited distribution storage solutions (BR/cartridge). All things I feverishly bought because I wanted to relive the highs of my youth but I just kept going back to those little voices that remind you that you could be doing something else, somewhere else. I kept fighting the urge to buy the Lenovo Legion Go because of this fear of getting buyers remorse. Thats until I said enough with my fear, lets go for it! Leading to this dramatic review, confessing my love to the Lenovo family and my new primary tech device, that redefines what I wanted in my youth, reminding me that I got into tech, not because of the examples of the time but what I was hoping the future would be. Everytime I turn it on, it outperforms everything I throw at it... yes, this is the future! ... Sure, the Z2 is coming out, bigger battery, better ergonomics, better screen.. all true but I bought this as an open box while on sale for less than a Switch 2 bundle.. which again, the future being $1400 is not what most folks, even ones who allocate way too much to tech.. saw coming... So for now, my wife can keep the switch 2, while i sit next to her and relive some of my favorite games.. i.e. Mafia series, GTA, Assassins Creed... Crysis.. all run excellent and as an adult in the tech industry, getting to configure settings and get it to play the way I want it to, never gets old! Unlike me.

Thanks for choosing Lenovo and for sharing your feedback with us!
We are pleased to read that you love the Legion Go and are enjoying using the system.
If you have updated system drivers to the latest versions, yet battery life is still falling short of your needs--depending on the demand of the game you're playing, by pressing the Legion R button to launch the quick menu, you can switch to lower power mode to save battery. In the menu, under the performance tab, users can toggle thermal modes and prioritize battery life by using the default mode or creating a custom thermal mode should you not be satisfied with the 3 presets. These adjustments can also be made by going into Legion Space > Settings (Legion Space can be launched quickly by pressing the Legion L button (Legion Logo above the button).

8.8” screen and detachable BT are unmatched
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hot take: the Legion Go is the go-to pc gaming handheld for those who appreciate a large screen (and yes the extra 1.5-2” compared to its competitors makes a difference). It’s decent out-of-the box, but it’s the accessories that really make this device shine. Add on Lenovo thumb sticks, ComfortGrips for the controllers, and a controller attachment for wireless gameplay to have a versatile console feel. Playnite can be configured to rival SteamOS UI, 1600p 144Hz is more versatile both for native gaming and streaming. The list could go on. So yes, the out of box experience could be better, but all of these x86 handhelds will require tweaking. And out of the current market, The Legion Go is the one that has the most improvement potential. That’s why I’m giving this product 5 stars.

Best PC handheld currently in the market
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Previous steamdeck and ROG Ally owner. I loved the Steam deck but needed a more flexible and powerful device that's able to play games outside of the Steam store without workarounds and too much tweaking, so I switched to the Rog Ally and that kept me gaming for a while however I was one of those that encountered the SD card failures so when I saw this being announced with detachable controllers and one that acts as a mouse? no brainer, plus its only 50usd more to get it to 1TB from the base model. It's a bit heavy but you get a better screen, and really no issues gaming on it. Currently playing Spiderman remastered!

Great if you're not a super serious gamer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quite happy with the purchase. Holding it is kinda awkward, there are some buttons on the handles that i constantly find myself pressing accidentally but they don't actually affect gameplay so not an issue. Been able to play Hades II and Silksong with no issue. It's not perfection in a handheld but it's pretty much what I wanted

My personal favorite handheld
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Of the current handhelds, my perspective is that the Go has the best build quality and aesthetics. As a first gen device, software growing pains were expected but the Lenovo Go community has been extremely engaged and communicate weekly updates / roadmaps on how they plan to continue to improve the device and bugs (e.g., BIOS updates, dead-zone fixes to come). Compared to my Ally, the lack of VRR is barely noticeable while the screen color, size, and accuracy is easily superior. All in, I've really enjoyed the device as a all in one portable capable of playing AAA titles and excels in emulation.

I call it my potato lol
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its got windows 11, a free 3 month trial to xbox gamepass and it runs so well. I play pal world, hogwarts legacy, and Arc without issues. Sometimes the fan gets loud, but I don't notice with headphones on. The framerate is really good I run it at 60hz on the go. The only thing I don't like is that the Left controller menu button is so far down. I have little lady hands, so if im using them separately from the console I have to hold it woth my uther hand or sit it down to move that far down. Other than that I absolutely love it!

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately, majority of these so called reciews seem to come from people with unrealistic pie in the sky expectations. It just launched, further updates, and drivers are right around the corner. The screen is gorgeous, their is no dead zone from what I can tell, likely nerds complaining as usual. The controls are fantastic. The feel is premo, the performance is better then anything currently on thr market

Best gaming system I’ve ever had!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely amazing device! I’m able to effectively play World of Warcraft, Red Dead Redemption 2, Fortnite, and most of all the big and demanding games and it holds up perfectly! I love this new Legion more than any other gaming system I’ve ever had! Only downside is the battery only last two hours but other than that 10/10 for sure! Would highly recommend!
