Not your ordirnary gaming device
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am fortunate enough to have a gaming computer, a switch 2, a ps5.. a cellphone.. all things to "game" on but they all feel stuck in the past. Stuck in the needless cycle of what they were originally built for - Utility, expensive closed off stores and unnecessarily limited distribution storage solutions (BR/cartridge). All things I feverishly bought because I wanted to relive the highs of my youth but I just kept going back to those little voices that remind you that you could be doing something else, somewhere else. I kept fighting the urge to buy the Lenovo Legion Go because of this fear of getting buyers remorse. Thats until I said enough with my fear, lets go for it! Leading to this dramatic review, confessing my love to the Lenovo family and my new primary tech device, that redefines what I wanted in my youth, reminding me that I got into tech, not because of the examples of the time but what I was hoping the future would be. Everytime I turn it on, it outperforms everything I throw at it... yes, this is the future! ... Sure, the Z2 is coming out, bigger battery, better ergonomics, better screen.. all true but I bought this as an open box while on sale for less than a Switch 2 bundle.. which again, the future being $1400 is not what most folks, even ones who allocate way too much to tech.. saw coming... So for now, my wife can keep the switch 2, while i sit next to her and relive some of my favorite games.. i.e. Mafia series, GTA, Assassins Creed... Crysis.. all run excellent and as an adult in the tech industry, getting to configure settings and get it to play the way I want it to, never gets old! Unlike me.

Legion go
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1st and only portable. This thing is very impressive for a handheld. Itll play MOST games on at least low graphics. I play mostly call of duty. The only games I've found it won't run is senua saga 2 and battlefield 2042. The battery is like an hour on mw3. The display is excellent. The removable controller has no lag. I haven't found something I don't like about it yet.

This Device Meets My Expectations And More!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been reading and researching this device for over 2 months before release. When I first found out about this from the leaks I was very excited. I am a Steam Deck owner and user for over a year now, I ordered that as soon it was announced also. I almost went for the ASUS Rog Ally but it filled to similar of a niche as my Deck. The Legion Go with its detachable controllers, larger screen, and Z1 Extreme (like the Ally) had me pretty well sold. I was in the market to get a new tablet also and was holding off, this device for me would also fill that need and use case (using Android emulation for android gaming). I really was actually wanting a Windows handheld, even with all of Windows imperfections for a handheld, I am very comfortable using windows even on a mobile device like the Legion Go. I will do a more in-depth review after some more use and testing but be sure to do your reasearch to know what to expect and what your getting into before purchasing.

Amazing!! (Former Steam Deck Owner)
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Lenovo Legion Go continues to exceed expectations with its detachable controllers and innovative mouse functionality. Notably, each Friday brings comprehensive community updates from dedicated developers, offering in-depth insights into upcoming features and fixes, fostering transparency and active user engagement. As for the device's future, the release of drawings for third-party attachments opens up a realm of exciting possibilities. Users and developers could create custom sound amplifiers to enhance audio quality and direct sound towards the player. Specialized control attachments for specific game genres could offer unique input methods and enhance gameplay. Additionally, ergonomic grips, accessory mounts, controller reinforcements, battery extenders, docking stations, external cooling solutions, and even carrying and protective cases are all within the realm of possibility. Despite the expected weight due to the substantial screen and battery, the Legion Go maintains a premium feel, although the controllers might feel somewhat plastic and hollow. It's worth mentioning that their lightweight design helps offset this drawback. While the onboard speakers leave room for improvement, the availability of the free FX Sound app suggests potential enhancements in future device updates. Furthermore, Windows 11's incomplete controller support for navigation remains a challenge. However, the overall experience, coupled with the unwavering commitment of the developers, firmly establishes the Legion Go as a frontrunner in the gaming handheld market.

Great if you're not a super serious gamer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quite happy with the purchase. Holding it is kinda awkward, there are some buttons on the handles that i constantly find myself pressing accidentally but they don't actually affect gameplay so not an issue. Been able to play Hades II and Silksong with no issue. It's not perfection in a handheld but it's pretty much what I wanted

Not for everyone but awesome if you know what to e
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you don't mind having to fix settings and troubleshooting, the legion go is amazing. The screen is awesome. The speakers are pretty weak but there are fixes that can be done to make them sound much better. They aren't the most comfortable but they are solid and not wobbly. The system cooling is excellently compared to another handheld we have tried. The battery isn't the longest lasting but its good for a couple hours of gaming. Even more if you adjust settings on simpler games.

Beat handheld pc period
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I came from my steam deck wanting more power and some freedom with windows OS. Chose this over the rog ally because of the peripherals….i loved the idea of switch like controllers that could double as a mouse. And man im in love. It’s certainly not perfect, and windows in these things will always be somewhat decisive but i have no complaints with the desktop. Its just an all around great device and the best windows handheld out there.

Beats the rog ally in almost ever way!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has a bigger and better screen, better grips, runs smoother and has the FPS mood! The only thing i would give the ally are the speakers. Outside of that the go is superior!

Great handheld.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really loved the device as a quick play during lunch at work. Sometimes just bringing the screen and an xbox controller made it much more portable and less heavy as well. Ran Final Fantasy XIV very well, and 2d games just look amazing on the device. The systems ability to do high refresh and resolution is a bit of a miss because most games you might play on it won't get anywhere near that performance but for older games it looks wonderful!

Best gaming system I’ve ever had!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely amazing device! I’m able to effectively play World of Warcraft, Red Dead Redemption 2, Fortnite, and most of all the big and demanding games and it holds up perfectly! I love this new Legion more than any other gaming system I’ve ever had! Only downside is the battery only last two hours but other than that 10/10 for sure! Would highly recommend!

Wonderful but half-baked
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The device is amazing but was released in perhaps a half-baked state. It’s a bit behind with both its graphics drivers and the state of its BIOS. Updates are planned to fix some of this and put it on the same level as the ROG Ally. That combined with the gorgeous screen make a truly delightful machine. Other main downside is battery life. Not an issue for me as I never expected we it to be all that great to begin with Highly recommend a purchase if you are in the market for a handheld pc and can play near an outlet.

It's not good, just buy a laptop.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While youtubers and other people might recommend this device, im going to give you my absolute honest opinion. This is not the best way to buy a handheld. It feels too big and clunky in your hand, theres buttons everywhere. You'll find yourself pressing buttons by just holding it. The controllers are modules that can be removed, which is very cool. The battery is not at all the greatest. All the apps and games recognize this more as a desktop pc rather than a handheld, which will make games run slower and certain apps to crash. The controller feels very cheap it creaks and squeaks while using it, almost feels as if it's going to break on you. At this price point, you might as well invest into buying a gaming LAPTOP

Interesting Device!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing screen and versatility! Should be much better later on when the software improves. The hardware itself is quite good. I like the the kickstand and the liteness of the controllers. I had a lot of difficulty with my original unit when attaching the right controller. I got a replacement unit and both controllers attach and detach without issue. It is taking time to get used to compared to the other smaller handhelds. Overall I do like it quite a lot and am excited to see what they do for future software/bios updates.

Excellent product
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great specs for the money, though I wish 32GB of RAM was optional as you can change the amount of VRAM the iGPU can use in the BIOS. The options are 3,4,6, and 8GB. With anymore than 4 selected, there's really not enough memory left for Windows and the CPU to use. That said, 4 is enough for most of my applications, overwhelmingly which are JRPGs which don't require lots of memory. Also I keep the screen refresh rate at 60 to help with battery power, which, for what it is, isn't too bad. I leave the power settings on my Go at Balanced which works for my uses. The screen looks great as far as my limited experience goes. It'll do up to 144Hz, but I just leave it at 60. Working with Windows 11 on a handheld device in which the interface is primarily touch screen is often clunky but it works. Sound is also crisp and legible as well. As for expansion, I'd really recommend going with an external SSD instead of relying on slow SD cards. At best, SD cards read at roughly the same rate as a spinning platter HDD. I love the 8.8" screen as my vision isn't the greatest so that's also a great help to me. There are other options out there for portable gaming PCs such as the Steam Deck, ASUS Ally, and the upcoming MSi Claw. I still believe this is the best of the lot, but everyone has different opinions. For 700 dollars for the 512GB model, I think it's a lot of performance at a great price point. Also, be advised, the screen is portrait orientated, so not every game will display correctly. I try to play Tales of Symphonia and the screen flips upside down when I try to load it. As of this writing, as far as I can tell, there's been no fix issued by anyone.
