My use case for LeGo: I play on my 90-ish minute train ride home from work a couple times a week. The battery lasts without plugging in. I also play on the couch to unwind at the end of a day. Overall, it's a great device. It's a lot lighter feeling than I expected and is easy to hold for longer play sessions. The screen is gorgeous. The joysticks and buttons feel great to me. This is subjective, but I like the feeling of the buttons and sticks on the LeGo more than on the Ally. I've never tried a Deck, so I can't compare there. There's still some Windows jank. But Lenovo had been pushing updates at an excellent pace. The deadzone issue that people had been hollering about is resolved. To me, that was the biggest problem with the device, but Lenovo was communicative on how they were handling it. Now the biggest unresolved issue for me is sometimes a game does not want to work correctly anymore if I accidentally go back to desktop at any point. The button presses work for only short bursts of time (like 3 seconds) before they don't register at all for another 10. This doesn't happen with every game (noticed it on Dave the Diver, to be specific), but when it does, I have to quit and relaunch for it to work again. Also, a nitpicky annoyance: the thumbnails in Legion Space for games on Xbox Game Pass are incorrect. All of my games from Game Pass have Hollow Knight as the thumbnail image. I don't know if it's because Hollow Knight was the first game I downloaded from Game Pass, but it's a minor irritation.

Wow. I’m impressed. A device so slick and powerful, this is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. Been on the fence for a while now about buying a new piece of technology and this satisfied every urge. Detachable controllers, 144hz display, and a built in kickstand? Absolutely wonderful. About a month since I had it and it hasn’t failed me yet. 10/10 would recommend!

Lenovo Legion Go: Exceeding Expectations for Porta

The Lenovo Legion Go is a surprising standout in the growing world of handheld gaming PCs. Its standout feature is the expansive, high-resolution display that delivers an immersive experience unmatched by smaller competitors like the ROG Ally, despite its lack of variable refresh rate (VRR). While the Legion Go might not rival full-fledged gaming laptops in raw power, it's remarkably capable for its size. Expect smooth 45-60 FPS gameplay at low to medium graphics settings, with the additional option to use AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) upscaling for a significant frame rate boost. For games that don't natively support FSR, tools like the inexpensive "Lossless Scaling" app on Steam can force FSR and Frame Generation for impressive results – I consistently hit 90+ FPS in my testing. Lenovo clearly has faith in the Legion Go, demonstrated by their constant updates and engaged community management on platforms like Reddit. This level of support is a welcome change compared to some competing devices like the ROG Ally. The Bottom Line: If you're searching for a top-tier portable gaming experience, the Lenovo Legion Go is worth serious consideration. While basic gaming PC knowledge is helpful to optimize settings for your desired frame rate, this device provides surprising power and flexibility in a sleek package.

    Best Handheld

Love this handheld, it has so many extra features that I found out afterwards (right controller can turn into a mouse being the coolest) and is very customizable depending on what you want to use it for. It is a big/heavy device but not so much so that it hurts to hold even for extended periods. Sometimes it will leave marks on my hands when i play for too long but i wouldn’t choose a different handheld!

The legion is a really neat little gaming device. I used it more as a Windows tablet more than a gaming device just because it doesn't have enough juice to run games at high settings. But it did work well with steam link or streaming games. The controllers are not as precise as a normal Xbox controller which was annoying... But you can always connect your control of choice via Bluetooth.

I did really like the product. The screen was amazing and it really does feel like a computer on the go. The only downside is that it requires internet for most games you will play and that is my only gripe. If it had something to produce WiFi on the go it would be a 5 star.

Love this thing, Had a SD and it worked great. But after getting this the all my non steam games issues were gone. Huge screen Performance is great and plays any game I throw at it. The one draw back is battery life, but thats a given when your running performace settings qith make cooling fan. 11 out of 10 even with the battery life.

I read and watched a ton of reviews on handheld devices before i bought this one. It had basically everything I want in a handheld. Nintendo switch but current lol. I get to take this with me and use as a laptop and also get to play games. The detachable controllers is cool too. It is a fun little device. Would recommend.

Very solid handheld gaming PC. The Legion software it ships with is easy to navigate. Refresh rate and screen size are fantastic. Battery life will obviously take a hit as a result. Usually get about 1 1/2 to two hours on performance mode.

Excited to upgrade to this Go from the steamdeck. I was super excited about the screen size. What a huge improvement over the deck. Picked up the 1tb and added a 1tb sd card to maximize storage. Fired right up into windows and was able to get up and running in no time. Enjoy the case that you can charge while it’s in the case. Removable controllers for a switch feel. Lenovo really knocked this one out of the park.

Wanted to access my consoles and my steam library from my bed while trying to relax at night. The screen is massive and bright. The unit is huge and sturdy perfect for my bigger sized hands. I dont mind tinkering with it so it is a perfect pocket pc gaming companion.

It as awesome as it sounds. A portable gaming pc. Sure the battery can drain quite quickly but I mean you see that big box you call a desktop? You know how much power it has and it consumes. Well all that in the palm of your hands. For a few hours depending on what game you play, that is a win. This thing is awesome.

This unit is simply amazing. I bought a laptop for gaming about two years ago thinking. These handheld units couldn’t cut it. I was wrong. So much more convenient, not stuck at a desk or having a hot laptop sitting in my lap. I have even played games that required keyboard and mouse, through the use of steams built in capability of adapting to a gamepad. This unit is amazing and plays everything from kingdom come deliverance 2 to stellaris with no issues. Couldn’t be happier!

The legion go is a beast of a system. Yes it needs updates as most new systems do. Look at what asus tog ally users said when it came out. As they update the system your not going to be disappointed. I own the steam deck and the rog ally but my legion go is my main handheld the screen is amazing and when you try and use a different handheld you'll put it down because nothing on the market beats it.

Coming from a steam deck, I saw reviews saying how the Legion go was harder to use and less streamlined. This couldnt be further from the truth. It plays every game smoother and with much better graphic settings than the steam deck could. I havent had any major issues so far and i absolutely love the screen size. Its a total win!
