    Excellent Mobile Gaming Station

The Lenovo Legion go is an excellent product that has surpassed my expectations of a handheld game station. I've played it on my couch, docked to my TV, in bed, and even in our minivan on a road trip. Its basically a mid range gaming PC on the go in every sense of the word. I was able to purchase it for a great deal at my local best buy and pick it up faster than I would have gotten it via amazon etc without worrying about it being damaged in the mail. If you struggle to find time or space to play games then I highly recommend it.

Bought this because on paper this improves on the ROG Ally in many ways. Larger screen, better battery life, better cooling, USB-C ports on the top AND bottom, detachable controllers with track pad and a cool FPS mode, built in Surface-style kickstand, with an excellent quality carrying case included at a reasonable price. It’s not all rose’s though: mediocre speakers, no biometric login options, no variable refresh rate and still has bugs that can probably be attributed to Windows running in this form factor. All in all, a hit from Lenovo. With some software tweaks and a good pair of headphones it’s an amazing portable gaming powerhouse.

I only have two complaints about the OG Legion Go: The screen and the driver support. The screen is a native portrait mode tablet screen, which is whatever, but the resolution and refresh rate are way too high relative to the power of the Legion Go. It would be better as a 900p screen with maybe 120 hz. Lenovo's driver support for the OG Go is basically nonexistent, so if you want regular updates, just swap from Windows to Bazzite or SteamOS.

      Hi JoshuaR-

Thank you for choosing Lenovo and sharing your feedback with us. We are excited to hear that you are enjoying the Legion Go. We aim to provide excellent user experience for our products, and we would love to recommend a few actions you can take to improve your experience.

Firstly, the Legion Go comes with the ability to change resolution to the user's preference. To start select the hexagonal Options key located on the right controller, under Resolution you can adjust to your preferred resolution based off the content on the display. We have noted your comments regarding the refresh rate of the display and may use these comments to improve future products.

Regarding your concern on driver updates and support, we would like to share that Lenovo is currently working on continuing to supply updates to the Legion Go, with the last update releasing in December with more planned to improve graphics performance and overall system performance.

Please reach out to us through the Q & A section of this product page if you have any questions or need assistance.

      Best wishes,

Software on this is primitive, I mean, to the people who think this is a cliché, let me clarify it for you, If Asus is like shopping on Amazon then this is AliExpress or Tumu. A rather good deal is to buy a Beelink Mini PC with R7 7840HS and an external screen, pair it with a Anker 140W power bank and you would be able to game at 144hz @ 4K for about the same time as the battery on this one lasts. Wait out at a couple generations of gaming handheld devices, let them innovate and then turn your attention back at them.

      Hi Nate-

Thank you for choosing Lenovo and sharing your experience with us. We are happy to hear that you are enjoying the Legion Go. We aim to offer great user experience and would like to work with you to address your concerns.

Firstly, we recommend running and installing all available drivers updates through Legion Space and Windows Update Settings, these updates are crucial to the device’s health and will affect power regulation leading to improved battery and thermals. To check for updates within Legion Space begin by launching the application, then click "Disks and Drivers" located at the bottom of the display, then select "Check for Updates". To check for Windows Updates, start by launching the Settings app, then selecting the Windows Update tab on the left-hand side of the page, finally select the “Check for updates’ button located in the top right of the page.

The Legion Go also comes has the ability to adjust the active performance profile and fan speed of the device based off your needs. To start press the hexagonal options key located on the right controller, then select the performance tab represented by the rocket ship, from here you can adjust the performance mode. We recommend using Quiet mode which will lower the temperature of the device and enhance battery life.

Please reach out to us through the Q & A section of this product webpage if you have any questions or need any assistance.

      Best wishes,

It’s a fantastic computer, great gaming device. Separating the joysticks makes it quite ergonomic. The battery life is decent, especially over the ROG Ally. The screen is tremendous! Color accuracy and size can lend itself to productivity work on the go, too. Overall, it is great!

First off...this is NOT a kids toy. This is a full blown Windows mini PC, that will require updates, new AMD driver installations, Bios tweaks for Ram, etc. That being said, Lenovo really hit this one out of the park for me. I was SUPER skeptical as there are other brands on the market that could have been real competitors, but there are none now. I ordered it with the expectations of returning it if this did not meet the expectations of release reviews, etc. I am now not only keeping it, I am OBSESSED! I absolutely love the way it feels in the hands and I have installed my entire Steam library with NO problems. Again, you will need to perform the AMD driver updates yourself and when you do...this system is the best. I am running MW3, RDR3, Fortnite (ahahaha), you name it...this is taking it and then some. Lenovo has a way to go with the next gens, but there is no need to wait for those as this one will be their goat for sure. Enjoy!

Ok, I was initially on the fence with this. I had a Steam Deck and am a Mac user for my personal computer. I absolutely love my Steam Deck and how it made portable PC gaming accessible! However, it didn’t work for all games. I found I was still locked out of Windows only gaming. Enter the Legion Go! It has truly been a game changer! The larger, brighter and bolder screen was phenomenal! Felt like a night and day difference! It is a little heavier and not quite as ergonomic, but the fact that I can play all my Steam and non-Steam games on one device is fantastic! Additionally, connecting it to my 47” OLED tv looks really good too! The SD was able to connect, but the resolution seemed to suffer. Cannot recommend enough!

Love this device, its screen, its features, its ergonomics, and its extra buttons. The built-in frontend games launcher kinda sucks right now but I’m sure it will improve. I don’t like that it’s a portrait-based display though. Good alternative to Steam Deck, maybe even better.

Debating between the Steam Deck and Asus Rog Ally? look no further because as someone who has all three, this one takes the cake on being the superior one of all 3. Beautiful resolution at 1200p that makes this device the best for using it as a laptop replacement, bigger screen so you can actually see text in games or browsing the web, FPS mode for shooters or just to use at mouse and much more! It's not perfect like having weak speakers and buggy software compared to the Ally and SD but in time it will beat out everyone once they fix it with patches. Now remember this is a windows pc so you will come across a lot of updates and such that gaming computers get; you'll also have to mess with the settings to get the best gaming experience. it's not as user friendly as a steam deck that runs on Linux. If you're looking for plug n play experience, I would wait for the OLED steam deck. This is like a laptop while the steam deck is like a PSP!
