This has replaced my work laptop and my personal laptop. The don’t even use it for games. Just connect it to an external monitor wherever I go and it provides everything I need. I disconnected the controllers a while an ago and only use it as my main computer. Absolutely love it!

I recently purchased the Lenovo Legion Go and had a mixed experience with it. The screen size is fantastic—an 8.8-inch display with vibrant colors and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, which really enhanced my gaming sessions. However, the device is quite bulky, which made it less comfortable to use for extended periods. The detachable controllers, while an interesting concept, felt awkward, especially when removed from the device. On the positive side, I appreciated the extra USB-C port, which added some versatility. Overall, there’s a mix of pros and cons with the Legion Go. While the performance and screen are impressive, the bulkiness and awkward controller design detracted from the experience. In the end, I couldn’t justify keeping it at the price point, so I decided to return it.

    Best PC handheld for me

To me this is the best PC handheld because it has the biggest screen. The Ally is a great device but the 7" screen being much smaller than this or even a PlayStation Portal let me to go in a different direction. I've been using the Legion Go for a month and I'm very happy with it. Helps that it was also on a big sale! Tip: Make sure you set up hibernate mode. Much better than full shutdowns and saves the battery unlike sleep mode.

So first off, the good; the screen is gorgeous, the fan isn't awful, and the go is powerful. Now for the bad; the deadzones on this are currently awful, the software is wretched, and the hand-held itself isn't that comfortable. The jagged edges mean you can only play this like a switch, or propped on your knee; playing in standalone just hurts. The trackpad is also subpar; it works, but that'd all I can say about it. Can not currently recommend, but keep an eye on updates.

Amazing piece of technology! If you enjoy tech and have experience with Windows this is the perfect device. It’s basically a laptop in handheld form and you can use it as your day-to-day PC. I love it I’m currently playing AAA games like Death Stranding, Hellblade, GTA V, Marvel Midnight Suns and other with no hiccups and really amazing graphics for a handheld. Awesome purchase!

This this is powerful. Easy to set up, just like any other laptop. The controls took a little getting used to because they are bulky, but very comfortable. I've not had any issues with any games on it except 1 older game which I still have till this day, an early ps3 era game but I think it's just driver related and I have not dug into it much. Very happy with my purchase. The battery lasts about 2 hours playing starfield, haven't tested it out in less demanding haha yet.

I bought this unit open box and got a great deal. I don’t think I would’ve been as happy if I paid full price. The built-in software that comes from Lenovo is crap. They are attempting to update it but it’s very slow for them to get updates out. The unit itself has plenty of power and with a little know how you can even unlock it to a much higher wattage to get even a few more FPS. Lenovo stop selling beta products at full price!

I returned the ROG Ally once the Legion Go was up for preorder via Best Buy. While the launch has been a buggy mess due to outdated graphic drivers with a few select games the overall experience has been phenomenal. The screen alone makes the Go a better hand held device on its own. Granted the software is half baked I’m certain Lenovo will improve over time. I have no regrets in returning the Ally. If you are not someone who wants to spend time optimizing this device. Get a steam deck.

Comparing to Ally and pre-Claw, this is definitely a winner. The large screen is perfect, and the extra usb connection allows for additional things that can be plugged in while the other is charging the unit. Drivers and SW are being worked on continually which only makes the unit better over time. Using for retro and modern gaming, and no major issues seen to date. The 1 TB drive is a must, especially for modern games.
