Runs most games well. Oblivion Remastered has to run at a lower graphics setting, but still works

Got the Legion GO 1TB faster processor version because i wanted an update from my steam deck. Steam Deck still works great but wanted something that wouldent need work arounds to install ubisoft and epic games store. Which isnt hard to do but still effort. Basically wanted a native windows handheld. As for the Legion GO i tried to like it. But, after loading up the games i play on my steam deck i noticed i needed to down the resolution and settings down to basically the same as my steam deck to get them to be playable. The 1600p screen it beautiful i will give it that and the upscaling it does even at lower resolutions is a plus. The processor is better then the steam decks but its GPU isnt much better and it’s a bottleneck. This would be great as an ultrabook but at the price and graphics power its not a good competitor for the steam deck. If the GPU cant keep up then the better processor is not really a benifit. Other than that Lenovo launched this item with very little support for drivers and software. Currently all updates aside from the controllers have to be done manually and lenovo has not been on a steady release scedule with them to keep up with the support for games. While Valve is always upkeeping the steam deck driver and software. This gives me concern over the longevity of the device. As it is now the gpu driver is out of date. Lenovo has said they are working to deliver updates on a regular schedule and deliver them more efficiently via the Legion Space app which is currently only used for games and controller updates. Hopefully if they follow through on this promise and will provide regular updates on schedule. Hopefully they will also update the GPU drivers to run more efficiently to be able to utilize the beautiful screen this has. They promised this by the end of December 2023 so if they follow through this review might not mean much at that point. I would recommend researching to verify at that point. But all in all until i see improvement im returning this and going back to my steam deck. But on a huge pro for this unit Lenovo did do good on the cooling system for it unlike the Asus Ally handheld the legion GO did not overheat while gaming or get that burning plastic smell. If Lenovo can prove long term support for this and improve it’s efficiency i may revisit this legion GO in the future. As of now November 2023 it’s not performing nor supported enough to justify the cost.

I have loved my Steam Deck but haven’t turned it on since getting the Legion Go. My hands are large and I find the Legion Go to be really comfortable. It plays Game Pass games (including the Xbox Series exclusive) Forza Motorsport well. The only things holding it back are the Legion Space software and battery life.

don't by any other legion go since they think they can price hike the z2go to over 800 dollars and double the price for the gen 2 instead of trying to be reasonable

Decent weight, needs some work on its battery life to performance ratio but that's most hand helds. The detachable controllers really need a first party accessory for connecting them together for ergonomics and the case has no place to transport the charger.

I've been looking for the ultimate handheld PC gaming solution, and this isn't it. I first purchased a Steam Deck when they first became available, and it was great, but I really wanted something that ran Windows natively. So I then purchased an Asus Ally. After a rocky launch with that unit, it's improved tremendously and now I'd say it's a pretty awesome system. However, I really wanted a bigger screen to make things a little more readable. So when the Legion was announced with a nearly 9" screen, I hit preorder. The extra features, like the detachable controllers, and trackpad, that's fine - but really I just wanted the bigger screen, and the higher resolution was a bonus for things like indie games (obviously no AAA titles will run at native res). So I got this... and first impression... it feels janky in your hand. The left and in particular the right controller have flex from the way they come together with the screen. It feels cheap and at first no secure - however I will say after using it, it never felt insecure, so that was just a first impression. Also there's a ton of buttons, like everywhere you have your hands, which again, at first seems really like it's an issue, but thankfully they're not programmed to do anything by default (they'd be very difficult not to hit by accident). The screen looked good - but didn't really blow me away compared to the Ally. It's bigger, but not as colorful or vibrant - but if you're coming from the Steam Deck it's a big upgrade, because of the resolution and refresh rate. The other big thing you notice is how big and bulky this is compared to the Ally. I'd say the Ally and this thing are almost not in the same class of systems. Head to head shots don't do it justice, you need to hold it in your hands, and the Legion just feels clunky and overly large and heavy. Going back to the screen, it is certainly bigger, and I like it, but I don't love it. The trade off for having such a big and heavy and clumsy feeling body around it isn't worth the trade off in my opinion. Also the software is not good, at all. Asus has a pretty nice UI that helps you load up stuff, and it works well with XBOX app and Steam, but also with things like Epic and Uplay. On the Legion, if you click on Epic, it literally opens a website for Epic - not the app, doesn't auto download it or anything. Also they dedicate a button to this software and put it where select would always be on old controllers - and best I can tell, you can't remap that. In fact the traditional start and select locations, Lenovo hijacked for their own buttons, and put start and select in the button left - and good luck in the middle of actioned packed game trying to remember which is which when you have to take your hand off the buttons to try to hit one of those keys in the bottom left. Oh, and there's no XBOX button - and no way to map one. That's not just an issue for XBOX, but also for Steam since that's the button it uses to bring up its menu. ASUS also doesn't have an XBOX button, but it lets you map it to another key. A huge miss by Lenovo. Also the controller itself doesn't feel good. It feels mushy, not very precise, too much travel with the analog triggers. This is subjective of course, but to me, I'm not a fan at all of the route they went here. Oh, and this doesn't have a finger print reader like the Ally, so say goodbye to quick logins. I'd rather have that finger print reader than the detectable controllers any day of the week. All these misses go on and on and on. If people think the Asus Ally launch was bad (and I had it from day 1), this is much much worse with the software, and the hardware feels very slapped together. I'll keep it for another few weeks since it's the extended return window time of year, but unless they were some huge strides in the software, I'll be returning it and just waiting until someone gets a larger version of Ally made.

Bought one because i wanted a better Rog Ally. And imo it is better in nearly every way. The ally does have AFMF which currently the LeGo lacks but otherwise im very happy with it. The joysticks and screen are definitely better quality than the Ally.

Amazing specimen of a machine, a little heavy for long playing but you can offset by removing the controllers and playing differently like on the switch. I just can't stop tinkering though, installing gaming portals, drivers, tweaking it for fun, and then eventually gaming; the gaming on it is flawless.
